1.热身(Warm-up)

Period One
I. Teaching objectives:
1. Arouse the students’ interest;
2. Review of Student’s Book I;
3. Learn some new words.
II. Teaching key points:
Words: notebook, snake, soup, pink, pencil case, butterfly, steak, gray thanks, this, that, these, those, mother, father;
Sentences: What’s this? It’s a butterfly. I like chicken. What do you like? I like steak. How are you? Fine, thanks.
III. Teaching difficult points:
the spelling of the words, the sound of “th” IV.
Ⅳ. Teaching aids:
tape recorder, word cards, slide, real things, colored pencils.
Ⅴ.Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Greeting Ask about their winter vacation.
Step 2 Revise the letters and the letter words A—M.
Step 3Teach the word “notebook”
Show out a note book, and ask “What’s this?”, get the students to say “It’s a notebook”. Guide them to remember the word by dividing it into note and book.
Step 4Teach the word “pencil case”
Show out a pencil case, and ask, “What’s this?” teacher says pencil case three times. Air draw the thing.
Step 5Teach the words of “snake” and “butterfly”
Use the hands to do the shape of a snake, let them guess. Pay attention to the last sound “k”. Use the same method to teach butterfly.
Step 6 Teach the conversation
Before opening the book, put the picture card of Gogo in front of your face.
T: Hello! What’s your name?
S1:I’m Gogo.
T: How are you?
S1: I’m fine, thanks.
Help S1 respond appropriately. Point to the picture of Peter on the page.
T: Who’s this? Let’s listen to the tape. Play the tape one time and ask Ss again who they think Peter is. Accept any answers at this stage.
T: Now open your books. Let’s listen again. Have Ss follow along. If necessary, help Ss answer who Peter is. Play the tape again, pausing after each sentence and letting Ss repeat.
