Yuan Longping.
Born into a poor farmer’s family in 1930, Yuan Longping is an agricultural scientist. When he was young he saw the great need for increasing the rice output. Since he graduated from Southwest Agricultural College in 1953, he has sruggled for Chinese farmers for over five decades.
