Step 1 Greetings

Greet the students as usual.

Step 2 Presentation

1a, Look at the picture. Have you read these books? Check (√) the ones you know.

Step 3 Learn the new words

treasure,island,classic,page,hurry,due

Step 4 Listening

1. 1b Listen and complete the chart. First let the students go through the chart and be prepared for listening.

Then listen again and check the answers.

Step 5 Speaking

1c, Practice the conversation. Then talk about the other books in 1a.

Examples

A:Have you read Little Women yet?

B:No,I haven’t. Have you?

A:Yes,I have already read it.

B:What’s it like?

A:It’s fantastic.

Encourage the students to practice.

Step 6 Listening

First let the students go through the tasks in 2a and 2b and then listen.

2a, Listen. Who has read these books? Circle the names.

2b, Listen again. Write T for true and F for false.

Step 7 Speaking

2c, Use the information in 2a and 2b to talk about the books.

Divide the students into several groups and practice.

Let a few students report their conversations.

2d, Role-play the conversation.

Step 8 2d Role-play the conversation

First let the students read aloud the conversation and deal with the difficult points. Remind the students to pay attention to“含有现在完成时的句子”。Then let them role play the conversation.

Deal with the difficult points:

1.You should hurry up. 你需要加快速度。

hurry up 赶快;(急忙)做某事

e.g. Hurry up, or we cannot get to the railway station on time.

快些,否则我们不能按时赶到火车站了。

2. Steve:…The book report is due in two weeks. 读书报告两周后必须交。
