History of MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art was establish(创建) in 1929.
From 1929 to 1932,the MoMA moved three times . Museum didn’t formally settled down in the current location until May 10 , 1932,the. The building was designed by Philip GE Edward Princeton.
现状：
2000年之后，现代艺术博物馆由于馆藏扩充甚多，原馆址亦需
整修，遂开始了新建物的计划，该馆在2002年5月21日关闭，将部份
馆藏迁往皇后区长岛市的一个旧钉书针工厂继续展览，称做MoMA
QNS。2004年11月20日，由日本建筑师谷口吉生设计的新馆开幕，
门票从美金12元调涨到20元，引起了不少争议。使它成为纽约市中
兰·罗瑞希望保持访客数在210万人次。
2000年，现代艺术博物馆宣布与英国泰德美术馆联盟，共同投
资设立以现代艺术为主的大型网站。

Considered by many to have the best collection of modern Western masterpieces in the world
Nowadays, MoMA's holdings include more than 150,000 individual pieces in addition to approximately 22,000 films and 4 million film stills.It’s amazing that so many great works of arts from the 19th century to 21st century are house in the museum.
最昂贵的博物馆之一。幸而该馆经美国Target连锁店赞助后，保持于
每周五下午四点后，开放访客免费参观。谷口吉生的作品也在开馆
时广受评论，除批评外观不过是一个中规中矩的现代建筑外，亦有
不少人对馆内动线感到不满。
在新馆的花岗岩与玻璃建物外观都完成后，目前该馆一年的访
客数约为250万人次，比往年约150万人数增加了许多，现任馆长葛
