Module 2 Unit 1 London is a big city.

一、教材分析
本课是新标准英语外研社教材三年级起点,四年级下册。本册教材共同分为11个模块,内含一个期末复习模块。每个模块分两个单元。一般,第一单元呈现要学习的语言内容,并为第二单元的语言应用做铺垫;而第二单元提供任务型练习,包括一首歌谣、歌曲或韵句。课文呈现的一些语法内容,但不要求讲解,更不要求学生掌握,只是要求初步运用这些语句。
本单元是第二模块的第一单元,主要是初步了解英国首都伦敦和部分景点。但我在选材上做了一个整合,将第二单元的伦敦其它景点也加入了进来,比如塔桥、大本钟等,让学生更加完整地、系统地了解伦敦,并练习使用big, small, clean, beautiful 等形容词介绍景点或者自己最喜欢的地方。
二、学情分析
本课授课对象是四年级学生,他们活泼好动,有着丰富的想象力和好奇心,对游戏、歌曲等活动特别感兴趣。也因为有一定的英语基础,他们的表现欲很强。他们对外面的世界,特别是外国的模样充满兴趣。因此我查找了色彩鲜丽的图片和视频,吸引学生的注意力。营造愉悦、快乐的课堂氛围,充分调动学生参与活动的积极性,使学生在亲身体验中展开有效的学习,保持学习英语的欲望和兴趣,从而提高英语学习的效率。
三、教学内容
1. 新词:London, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, beautiful, close to
2. 了解伦敦,并且能够介绍其景点:海德公园,塔桥,大本钟,白金汉宫。
3. 重点句型:This is …/ It’s very… and very …
四、教学目标
1. 知识目标:
1)学生能听、说、读本课所学的新词和新句。
2)认识伦敦。
2. 能力目标:
1)学生能用所学目标语言介绍景点或城市。
3. 情感态度目标:乐于接触外国文化,增强祖国意识。
4. 思维品质培养目标:
1)通过观看图片和视频,让学生进行头脑风暴Brainstorming,在唤醒旧知的同时,增强学生的空间想象能力和系统性的、较独立的思考能力。
2)通过小组讨论和Free talk 鼓励学生不囿于已有观点,大胆运用目标语言表达自己独特的看法或见解,培养学生批判性思维。
3)培养学生认真观察事物及发散思维的能力。
五、教学重难点:
1. 重点:学生能用所学的形容词和句型介绍景点或城市。
2. 难点:自然地引入并推进各教学环节,让课堂不做作却又充满新意和乐趣。

七、教学过程:
Step 1. Warming up
A. Greeting and self-introduction.
Step 2. Presentation
A. Lead in
a. T: Summer vocation is coming, I want to have a travel. Would you like to go with me?
b. Where to go? Here’s a song about that city, let’s have a look. (Enjoy the song and guess the city.)
B. Presentation: Learn the new words and sentences.
a. T: Do you know where it is?
Ss: …
T: Yes, it’s London. I want to travel to London, so today let’s prepare for our trip, OK? Next, let’s watch a video and find out the scenery spots in London. Ready? Go!
b. T shows a video of London. After watching, ask the Ss to describe the city: What do you think of London? Then write down the title on the blackboard: London is a big city. (Teach the new word: beautiful in this part)
C. Say the scenery spots.
a. Learn Buckingham Palace, and ask the Ss to describe Buckingham Palac e: It’s very bi g and very beautiful. It’s very… Show Buckingham Palace on the map and tell the students something about Buckingham Palace.
b. The same way to learn the Big Ben, Hyde Park, Tower Bridge.
Step 3. Practice
A. Group work: Choose one picture and describe the scenery, then stick that picture on the map.
B. Show and say:
a: Students show their favorite places on Kouyu 100 which they’ve uploaded before class, maybe their house, their school, their city or where ver they like…and now they describe it.
Step 4. Ending
A. Homework:
a. Finish the reading on Kouyu 100.
b. Introduce your favorite place to your family.
B. Say goodbye.
