The Relationship between Wealth and Happiness Wealth can bring the happiness, but wealth isn’t equal to the happiness, it is just a way to get the happiness. When happiness is mentioned, many people will relate the happiness to the amount of the wealth, because wealth can meet the needs of people on the matter in varying degrees. While wealth does not necessarily bring happiness, but no money is certainly unhappy. There is no doubt that if you are not guaranteed basic life, very optimistic person would also feel frustrated and unhappy. For the poor, they don’t have time to do things that they love, because they must worry about their food and clothes instead of pursuing the lives that they like, so wealth will bring the happiness to them. I read a saying online that “I can imagine a millionaire is happier than a beggar, but I can’t imagine a multimillionaire is happier than a millionaire.”The saying tells us that when wealth can meet material needs, it will not bring the happiness anymore. Some enterpriser can create a lot of wealth each year, but they are so busy so that they can’t meet their family and do the things what they like. For these rich people, they are not happy, too. Just as German philosopher Simmel said “Money is a medium, a bridge, but people cannot dwell on the bridge.”
