economic situation worsened and her own health deteriorated. At this point , she , her mother and sister became intensely involved with the Anglo-Catholic movement. For the rest of her life , Christina governed herself by strict religious principles and refused twice her suitors for marriage. Then she lived a quiet life , occupying herself with charity

2. Features of Her Poems
❖ Rossetti's work focused a great deal on death and the futility of life. Yet whilst one may expect to find her poems unbearably sad and depressing, there was a certain charm to her writing with her subtle feeling of beauty and her almost childlike sense of innocent wonder that balanced out the melancholy.

❖ Christina Georgina Rossetti is the finest woman poet in the history of English literature. She wrote a variety of romantic, devotional, and children's poems. She is best known for her long poem Goblin Market, her love poem "Remember”. She was also associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood headed by her brother D. G. Rossetti , and shared the PreRaphaelite taste for the beautiful but sad and various imagery. Her writing exerted a great influence on 20th-century women poets .
