EXIT INTERVIEW PROBING QUESTIONS

Exit interview provides us an opportunity to learn reasons for the associate’s departure. By talking to associates who are leaving the organization, we can have an inside look at ourselves and make positive changes in our organization. In the interview process, the interviewer should display good listening skills, keep an open mind and show empathy. We should try our best to make the associate leave thinking as positively about the organization as possible. At the end of the interview, please thank the associate for his/her participation.

P2. What did you like best about this hotel?

P3. How and when you’ve come to decide to leave?

P4. What could have been done early on to prevent the situation developing and provide a basis for you to stay with us?

P5. What’s your opinion on communication from the hotel management team?

P6. If you have accepted a new offer, what does the new one attract you most while the current one cannot provide you?

P7. Do you think the hotel treats the associates fairly and equally with respect to policies and procedures? Please give your comments on it.

P8. Do you think the associates are well recognized by the management team for their good performance? Please give your comments on it.

P9. How well do you think your training and development needs were assessed and met?

Attention: Please kindly be noted that the adjustments to be made are based on the facts you got from the interviews you had with both the associate and the associate’s supervisor.
