(2)whether 或if 引导的宾语从句whether 或if 引导宾语从句时,在句中不充当成分,但是含“是否”之意,从句要用陈述语序。

I wonder whether/if we'll finish the task on time.我不知道我们能否按时完成这项任务。

I'll see whether/if I can advise him to accept it.我要看看我是否能劝他接受。

Unit3 单元语法详解宾语从句和表语从句宾语从句宾语从句在复合句中起宾语的作用,可以放在动词、介词及少数形容词之后。

宾语从句应用陈述句语序。

l. that引导的宾语从句(1)that引导宾语从句时本身无词义,在从句中也不充当句子成分,在非正式文体中that可以省略。

I think( that) you are right. 我认为你是对的。

(2)由并列连词and和but所连接的两个或两个以上的由that引导的宾语从句,第一个从句的that可以省略,第二个及其后的从句中的that不可省略。

He said ( that) he had eaten nothing but that he was not hungry.他说他没有吃东西,但不饿。

(3)在含有复合宾语的句子中,that引导的宾语从句必须后置,用it作形式宾语。

可这样使用的动词有think, find, feel, consider, make等。

We think it possible that you can finish the job today.我们认为你今天可能完成这项工作。

(4)that引导的从句一般不能作介词的宾语(but, except, in除外),有时可借助it来表示。

I know nothing about him except that he is a writer.除了知道他是个作家,别的我一无所知。

We depend on it that you help us with the work.我们要靠你们来帮助我们完成工作。

例1 The teacher informed us we would have a test the next day.解析:考查宾语从句。

句意:老师告知我们第二天进行测试。

从句部分不缺少句子成分,句意完整,所以填that即可。

)1.连接词that 引导的宾语从句that在句中不充当任何句子成分,在口语或非正式文体中常被省去。

2.连接词whether/if 引导的宾语从句连接词whether/if 作“是否”讲时,常用在ask, care, find out, know, wonder 等动词后常跟带有疑问意义的宾语从句。

从句中仍保持陈述语序,whether或if 不担当句子成分。

②Do you know whether/if any decision has been arrived at?你知道是否已经做出决定了吗?3.连接代词和连接副词引导的宾语从句连接代词who, whom, whose, what, which, whatever, whoever, whomever, whichever连接副词when, where, how, why。

这些连接词都有词义,除引导从句外,还在从句中充当一定的成分,可作主语、宾语、表语、定语、状语等。

这种宾语从句有疑问意义,但不是疑问句,不能用疑问语序,而要用陈述语序。

5)动词doubt后宾语从句,否定句和疑问句用that引导。

Eg.I don’t doubt that he will succeed.我毫不怀疑他会成功。

Do you doubt that he will succeed?你怀疑他会成功吗?(2)whether/ if1)引导宾语从句是“是否”之意,在宾语从句中不作成分,但不可省略。

一般情况下whether和if可互换。

Eg.I wonder if /whether you would mind us ask you a few questions.不知你是否介意我们问你几个问题。

I doubt whether/if he will succeed.我怀疑他是否会成功。

2)在下列情况只用whether“是否”。

a. whether or not 直接连用。

I don’t know whether or not he will come here.我不知道他是否来这里。

b.与表示选择的or 连用。

I don’t care whether he will leave or stay.我不在乎他是去还是留。

c . 做介词的宾语。

d. 动词discuss 后的宾语从句。

We are discussing whether we will accept his offer.我们正在讨论是否接受他的帮助。

(3)特殊疑问引导的宾语从句:即由连接代词:who/ whom(谁)whose(谁的)what (什么)which (哪一个)连接副词:when(什么时候)where(哪how(如何)why (为什么)等引导的宾语从句,它们在从句中充当成分,有词义, 不可省略。

注意宾语从句用陈述语序。

Pay attention to what the doctor said!注意医生所说的话。

(what引导宾语从句,在从句中做said 的宾语。

)I don’t know who will go there.我不知道谁要去那儿。

Do you know whom he is speaking to?你知道他在给谁说话吗?He asked whose book it was.他问它是谁的书。

Do you know when he will come back?你知道他什么时候回来?I don’t know where he will go tomorrow.我不知道他明天要去哪里。

Could you tell me why h e didn’t go to school yesterday?你能告诉我昨天他为什么没来学校吗?Will you tell me how I can keep fit and healthy?你能告诉我怎么保持健康吗?3.宾语从句注意:1)宾语从句语序:由特殊疑问词:连接代词who/ whom,whose,what, which 和连接副词:when,where,how,why 等引导的宾语从句用陈述语序(特殊疑问词+主语+谓语+其他)。

Eg.He asked whose book it was.注意:当what ,who 在宾语从句作主语时,语序不变:What’s wrong ? What’s the matter?What has happened?eg I don’t know what’s wrong ?/what’s the matter?我不知道怎么啦?2)宾语从句时态a.主句谓语动词是现在时态,宾语从句根据具体情况而定。

Eg.I know (that) he lives here .我知道他住在这。

I know (that) he lived here three years ago.我知道他三年前住在这。

I know (that) he will come here tomorrow.我知道他明天要来这。

b.主句谓语动词是过去时态,宾语从句要用相应的过去时态。

但是,当宾语从句表示的是客观事实、真理等,从句仍用一般现在时态。

Eg.Our teacher said that the earth goes round the sun.我们老师说地球绕着太阳转。

Mother told us that practice makes perfect.妈妈告诉我们熟能生巧。

3)宾语从句的否定转移当主句谓语动词是think ,believe,suppose 等动词时,且主语是第一人称(I/we)其后的宾语从句,如有否定意思,要把主句中的动词变为否定,(即从句意思否定,形式转移到主句谓语动词上)。

Eg.I don’t think it can be a fake.我认为它不可能是假钞。

(二)表语从句(The Predicative Clauses)1.表语从句: 在复合句中作表语的句子叫表语从句。

句子结构:主语+系动词+表语从句(引导词+主语+谓语+其他)Eg.The question is whether it is worth doing.2.表语从句的引导词有:连词:that(无词义),whether(是否),as if/as though(好像)连接代词what (什么)who/ who(谁)whose(谁的), which (哪一个)连接副词when(什么时候), where(哪里),how(如何/怎么样), why (为什么),because(因为)(1)that1)that引导表语从句,本身无词义,在从句中不作成分,但不可省略。

The trouble is that I lost the key to my room.麻烦的是我丢了房间的钥匙。

2)在suggestion , advice(建议), proposal,(提议)order(命令),request (请求)等名词作主语时,其后的表语从句用that 引导。

从句中谓语用虚拟语气,其构成是“shoul d +动词原形”,should可省略。

My suggestion is that we ( should )start off at once.我的建议是我们应该立刻出发。

3)在名词reason 作主语,其后的表语从句用that 引导。

The reason why he was late was that he didn’t catch the first bus.他迟到的原因是他没赶上早班车。

(2)whetherwhether引导表语从句,意为“是否”(注意表语从句不用if)Eg.The question is whether it is worth doing.问题是这事是否值得做。

(3)as if/as thoughas if/as though引导表语从句,从句的谓语部分有时要用虚拟语气。

eg He looks as if he were an artist.(从句的谓语were是虚拟语气)他看起来像个艺术家。

I t looks as if it is going to rain.(从句的谓语is是陈述语气)看来天要下雨。

(4)whatwhat引导表语从句, 在从句中作主语、宾语和表语,意为“所..的人/事”,不可省略。
