Studies on the vocabulary teaching abroad.
In the 1970s, the vocabulary teaching began to be paid attention to abroad. Wilkins was an outstanding representative. In 1993, the English linguist Michael Lewis put forward the concept of Lexical approFra Baidu bibliotekch. In 2001, Brown and Hatch introduced the vocabulary teaching in the book Vocabulary, Semantics and Language Education.
Secondly, the amounts of vocabulary directly have a great effect on the students’ skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, etc. Therefore, vocabulary teaching is an important part in English teaching in senior high school.

Research Motivation
Thirdly, grammar teaching has been focusing on in our traditional English teaching while vocabulary teaching is ignored. However, in the national college entrance examination, vocabulary is paid more and more attention to. What’s more, according to Senior Middle School English Curriculum Standard (2003), the number of vocabulary for senior high school students has increased from 2000 to 3000. So how to improve English vocabulary teaching becomes an urgent problem.
