• The internal clusters in the main island are connected by expressways
and arterial roads that are characterized as “two vertical and two horizental” pattern. Two verticals are Tandong Ave and Tanxi Ave; Two horizentals are Fuping Ave and Yuping Ave.

• The overall structure of urban development is based on the following
principles: island level unification; rural-urban integrated planning; cluster development and phasing strategy. The goal is to achieve “multcore/multi-cluster, short-term+long term, and resiliency”
part of fifteen-square kilometer Pingtan FTA in Fujian.
• Strait bridge I is open to public. It takes 40 mins to Fuqing City, 1.5 hrs to
Fuzhou City, and 2 hrs to Changle Airport.
• High-tech industrial zone: foucsing on the development of electronic
information, new materials, new energy, marine biomedical, outsourcing and other high tech industries. Promote the use of low-carbon technologies and strive to build a cross-strait high-tech industrial base and low carbon technology demonstration site.
