学英语过程是一个听说读写、紧密相连、环环相扣的过程,尤其是阅读和写作是易犯错误部分。
如何提高学生阅读和写作能力是摆在每位英语教师面前的新课题,教师应充分利用教材,正确引导,规范教学,练在平时,以提高学生的阅读写作能力。
大多数初中学生的阅读能力不强, 只能通过猜测来判断作者的写作目的和其他信息。
这是由三个因素造成的:
1、生词。
有大批学生抱怨不断出现的新词新意, 这是最为主要的障碍。
有些学生自己不善积累生词, 增加词汇量; 另一些意志不强,遇到困难时就产生消极态度, 主观上放弃了努力。
2、薄弱的阅读能力, 以及句子结构理解的偏差。
几乎每个学生都经历过这样的情况: 当他们读到文中的一个长句时, 他们能理解每一个词或短语, 但就是不能搞清楚这句话的含义。
很显然, 这时就会考验出学生阅读的水平了。
在这种情况下就只能直译, 那么训练的结果也就可想而知了。
3、阅读训练单调
“教单词——读课文——回答问题”这种最常见的教学模式,缺乏了有效的阅读方法的指导。
4、阅读效率低,阅读的效率主要指学生对阅读文章理解的正确率与理解的速度。
这几乎也是所有学外语的学生都会感受到的问题。
通常大多数学生读完全文没有问题, 但实际效率就没那么高了。
不同的水平其表现也不同, 比如有的可以很快就看完, 但没有得到任何有用的信息; 有些在看完后仅仅只能有个模糊的印象, 很多信息粘作一团。
英语写作主要考查学生的语言运用能力、思维能力和书写能力。
而初中学生主要存在的问题是:跑题、遗漏要点、语法错误、单词拼写错误和层次不清等。
所以对绝大多数初中生
而言,写作水平欠缺,不能做到文句通顺、逻辑合理、语法正确,又没有良好的运用英语语言的环境,对英语作文话题生疏,无从下笔。
如何有效地进行阅读:
一、在阅读过程中,我们必然会遇到不认识的生词。
但在一般情况下,三五个生词是不会影响我们对全篇阅读材料的理解。
二、读有通读和细读两种。
通读是为了弄懂大意、细读是为了掌握具体内容。
阅读开头的段落,这部分介绍性的材料将会使我们熟悉作者将要讨论的主题思想。
然后阅读下面各段的第一句话。
这些句子可以使我们对文章内容有一个总体的概念,再阅读最后一段。
这一段帮助我们对所覆盖的材料作一概括。
三,要全面地重新细读全篇。
第二遍阅读的速度取决于我们从对该材料的预读中所获得的信息和指导。
例如,我们往往能够根据段落的第一句话或者主题句来判断该段落的重要性。
若该段落看起来是重要的,那就要仔细地阅读;若根据我们第一次的阅读,这个段落似乎不太重要,那么就可以略读,但不要完全跳过它。
一般说来,英语阅读有精读(intensive reading)、泛读(extensive reading)和快读(fast reading)三种形式。
精读的任务在于传授系统的基础语言知识(语音、语法、词汇、篇章结构、语言功能意念等),训练基本语言技能(听、说、读、写、译),培养初步运用英语进行交际的能力。
泛读的任务在于着重提高阅读理解能力;培养细致观察语言以及假设、判断、分析、归纳、推理论证等逻辑思维能力;培养速读能力以及阅读的兴趣,扩大词汇量,增强文化背景知识。
从用途上看,泛读的实用性最广。
在实际生活里80% ~90%的阅读都是泛读。
快速阅读则要求读者在非常有限的时间内迅速完成读者与作者书面交际的任务。
在阅读过程中,略过无关信息,筛选有关信息,利用标题、段落、主题句和关键词语,辨认要点,迅速有效地获取重要信息。
提高阅读速度,进行快速阅读也有一些具体方法和技巧问题,如快速泛读、计时阅读、略读和寻读等。
所以,阅读时要选择恰当的阅读形式。
因此,在写作操练时应注意:
1)审题目:看到作文题不要急于动笔,要认真审题,仔细看清题目的要求。
审清具体写作要求的格式、体裁、人物关系、情节、主体时态、活动时间、地点等。
然后,再在自己的头脑中构思出一个框架或画面,确定短文的中心思想。
2)圈要点:为了防止写作过程中遗漏要点,要充分发挥自己的观察力,把情景中给出的各个要点逐条列出。
3)定基调:定出时态、人称、顺序、开头、结尾。
4)写全文:写短文时要做到以下四个方面:
a)要尽量使用自己熟悉的句型进行写作。
同时,几种句型可交替使用,以避免重复和呆板。
b)注意语法、句型的灵活运用。
语态、时态要准确无误;主谓语要一致,主语的人称和数要和谓语一致;注意人称代词的宾格形式;注意冠词用法,注意拼写、标点符号和大小写。
c) 注意上下文要连贯。
把写好的句子,根据情节,事情发生的先后次序(时间或空间),使用一些表示并列、递进等过渡词进行加工整理,使文章连贯、自然、流畅。
d) 不会表达,另辟蹊径。
作文给分是以要点和语言准确度而定的。
因此,如遇到个别要点表达不出来或难以表达,可采用变通的办法,化难为易,化繁为简。
总之,所写句子要正确、得体、符合英语表达的习惯。
5)改错:改错是写作部分必不可少的一个环节。
检查错误应从以下几个方面入手:a) 检查字数是否达到要求;有无遗漏要点。
b) 检查文体格式是否正确规范。
c) 检查词语使用是否正确,有无语法或用词上的错误。
d)检查单词拼写、字母大小写是否有错,标点符号有无遗漏或用错等等。
e) 注意时态、语态、人称是否上下文一致
所以,在英语写作教学中,我主要采取两种做法:
1、每天写一事。
我要求每一位学生准备一本笔记本,专门用来写英语作文,
鼓励学生要有恒心,要求学生每天坚持写一篇英语作文,开始时只要求写
简单句,问答句,做到语法正确,句子通顺,待一段时间后,练习写日记。
只要坚持,日积月累,就会提高写作能力。
2、确定主题写作文。
外延社的新标准英语教材安排的十分合理,每个模块一
个主题,语法要点也基本一个模块一个,对于学生掌握和巩固语言是很有
帮助的。
在教学过程中,我每上完一个模块,就布置学生一个写作的主题,
让学生结合所学的语法、时态、句型结构等写一篇小短文。
比如:我上完
了初一下册Module3 Plans后,我就布置了一篇“My plans”为题的小短文,
进一步巩固强化be going to 句型。
总之,英语读写能力的形成和提高是中学生学习英语的难点。
在教学中不能将培养读写能力与其他能力的培养截然分开。
听、说、读、写四种能力是相辅相成,是学生多方面语言知识综合运用能力的反应,不是一朝一夕,而是一个长期渐进的过程,要把对学生的全面训练贯穿于始终。
从学生的实际出发,学生要多练,教师要多指导,经过长期、反复、多形式的读写练习,初中读写能力滞后的问题一定会得到切实有效地解决。
为了提高学生的读写能力,激发学生的学习兴趣,我校大力开展英语社团活动,我们社团的名称叫《英语开心角》,鼓励大部分英语爱好者加入到我们社团,我们组织丰富多彩的英语活动,其中就有英语演讲比赛和英语作文比赛。
我们学校的期刊《映山红》也鼓励学生发表英语小作文,以此提高学生的阅读写作能力。
