1My Big Day at the Hubei 11 Schools ExamHi there! My name is Lily, and I'm a fifth-grader at Wuhan Primary School. Today, I want to tell you all about my exciting experience at the Hubei 11 Schools Second Joint Examination. It was a really big deal for me, and I was so nervous, but also really excited! The night before the exam, I could hardly sleep. My mom made me my favorite dinner, dumplings with pork and cabbage, to help me feel better. But my tummy was still doing flip-flops thinking about the test. I laid out my school uniform, my pencil case, and my lucky eraser (it's shaped like a little panda!) so I'd be ready to go in the morning. When my alarm went off at 6 am, I jumped out of bed and got dressed right away. I was too nervous to eat much for breakfast, but my dad said I had to have something in my belly, so I had a small bowl of congee with some pickled vegetables. Yum!The exam was being held at Wuc篇2The 2024 Hubei Province Second Joint ExaminationWow, what a day! I just finished taking the huge Hubei Province Second Joint Examination and my hand is sore from all that writing. This test was really important since it helps determine what junior high school I'll get into next year. I've been studying like crazy to prepare. The exam had four sections - Chinese, math, English, and an essay. I'll tell you all about my experience with each part. The Chinese section was first. We had to read several passages and answer detailed comprehension questions about them. There was also a section on analyzing classical Chinese poetry. I thought the poetry analysis was the hardest part. Those ancient poems are just so confusing with all their flowery metaphors! The reading comprehension wasn't too bad though. I've been practicing close reading skills in my Chinese classes.Next up was math, which has always been one of my strongest subjects. This section covered all the basics like arithmetic, algebra, geometry and statistics. A lot of thequestions involved setting up equations or mathematical proofs with multiple steps. I definitely ran out of time at the end and had to rush through the last few problems. Math is challenging but I love the satisfaction of finally solving a tricky problem! The English section came after the break for lunch. As an English language learner, this part made me pretty nervous. We had readings about things like environmental protection and cultural traditions. The vocabulary questions were rough with lots of words I didn't recognize. The grammar questions were okay though since we've drilled those concepts a lot in school. For the writing prompt, I chose to write a letter to the mayor about ways to reduce litter in our city parks. Finally, the last section was the essay for Chinese writing. The prompt was "Describe a special day you'll never forget and explain why it was so memorable." I decided to write about the time I got separated from my parents at the Wuhan Zoo. I was only 6 years old and got distracted looking at the elephants. When I turned around, my parents were nowhere to be found! I still remember the panicky feeling as I wandered around alone crying before a nice zookeeper finally helped reunite me with my frantic mom and dad. What a scary experience that was!Phew, I'm exhausted just recounting that marathon test session! It spanned almost 6 hours with just a short break for lunch. My brain felt like mush by the time the final bell rang. I really gave it my best effort though. No matter how I scored, I'm proud of myself for working so hard to rise to this challenge. Now it's just a nervous waiting game until the scores are released in a couple months. My parents have emphasised how the results could impact what schools I get into down the road. Maybe I tested into my first choice junior high? Or perhaps I'll just squeak into one of the backup options my parents picked. Either way, this marked the end of an important chapter in my elementary school career.Looking back, my years of elementary school actually zipped by pretty fast. It feels like just yesterday that I was a nervous first-grader struggling to remember how to tie my shoes or write my name in Chinese characters. My amazing teachers helped me grow so much over these formative years. They taught me way more than just math and reading. I learned skills like problem solving, public speaking, teamwork, and having a strong work ethic. Some of my favorite elementary school memories are from all the performances and special events we had. Did you know Iplayed the tree in the second grade play about "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz?" Yeah, not the biggest role but hey, trees are pretty important! I even got one line - "It sure is a beautiful day in the forest." Nailed it!In fourth grade, our class got to take a field trip to a museum and walk through an incredible exhibit about terracotta warriors from ancient China. I'll never forget seeing those life-sized soldier statues that were thousands of years old. Our guide taught us all about their battle formations and mysterious origins. It was like the past came to life before my eyes. Field trips are the best!篇3The Second Hubei Top 11 Schools Exam AdventureHi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm a 5th grader. I just took the second big exam for getting into the top 11 schools in Hubei Province next year. It was quite an adventure! It all started a few months ago when my parents started talking about this huge exam. They said it was super important if I wanted to go to the best middle school. At first I wasn't too worried since I'm a good student and tests are usually no big deal for me. But then they started telling me how competitive itwas and how thousands of other students would be taking it too. That's when the butterflies started fluttering in my tummy! My parents hired a special tutor to help me prepare. Her name was Ms. Wang and she was really strict. We had extra classes every day after school covering all the exam subjects - Chinese, math, English, you name it. There were practice tests every week too. My brain definitely got a workout! As the exam got closer, the pressure really mounted. My parents kept reminding me how critical this test was for my future. They'd say stuff like "If you don't get into a top school, your whole life will be harder!" No pressure, right? I actually had a few nightmares about failing the exam. In one of them, I couldn't answer any of the questions and they had to kick me out halfway through. I woke up in a cold sweat! Finally exam day arrived - May 14th, 2024. I was so nervous that morning. My hands were shaky as I tried to eat my breakfast. My mom made my favorite dumplings to try and settle my nerves. I've never been so scared about a test before. We headed to the exam site at Wuhan No. 1 High School bright and early. There were huge crowds of students and parents outside. I couldn't believe how many kids were takingthis thing! We all had to get our temperatures checked and show our permissions to enter due to the lingering pandemic rules.Once inside, I had to go through multiple check-in desks to verify my identification and receive my test booklets and supplies. I've never felt so official before. An exam proctor led my group to our testing room and went over all the strict rules. No talking, no looking around, no leaving for bathrooms unless it was an absolute emergency. Just total lockdown testing mode. The pressure was immense! The first exam was Chinese. As soon as the proctor said "Begin!", I put my head down and started bubbling in answers as fast as I could while trying to make sure I didn't make careless mistakes. There were reading comprehension passages to analyze, ancient poems to explain, and essays to write. I ran out of time before I could properly check over my essay at the end. My hand was cramped from all the writing! After a quick snack break, it was on to the math exam. This one actually wasn't too bad for me since I'm a strong math student. Though there were some tricky word problems that took a lot of thinking through. I'm just glad I learned all those equations and formulas inside and out thanks to Ms. Wang's intense tutoring.Next up was English, which has gotten much harder for me lately with all the grammar rules and vocabulary we have to know these days. But I've been working really hard on it so I think I passed at least. The reading passages about Wuhan's history were pretty interesting. For the writing section, I had to pretend I was giving a speech persuading my classmates to reduce plastic waste. I argued we should all use reusable water bottles and bags to protect the environment. The final exam of the day was science - a mix of biology, chemistry, physics, you name it. This one knocked me out! There were so many obscure facts to memorize about processes like photosynthesis and circuits and elements. I basically just had to guess on many of those questions. I walked out feeling mentally drained and discouraged. The tests weren't over though! The next day we had to return bright and early for history, geography, and politics exams. Those definitely tested my stamina with all the dates, names, places, policies and ideologies to know. My brain was turning to mush by the end. I'm just glad I paid attention in those classes all year. After two extremely intense days of testing, it was finally over! I couldn't wait to go home, put on my comfy pjs, and vegout in front of the TV. My parents took me out for a celebratory dinner of my favorite noodle dish. They kept saying how proud they were of me for pushing through such a grueling exam. I was just thrilled I survived! Now it's a nervous waiting game until the scores are released in a couple months. My parents are already making plans for enrolling me in an elite private middle school if I don't make the cut for one of the top public ones. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed and hope all my hard work pays off. Wish me luck, everyone!篇4My Awesome Family VacationThis summer, my family went on the best vacation ever! My mom, dad, little sister Lily, and I went to this really cool place called the Great Smoky Mountains. It was so much fun and I have a ton of awesome stories to tell you about our trip!We left super early in the morning to start driving there from our house. It took like a bazillion hours in the car, but I didn't even get bored because we played really fun games the whole time. We did road trip bingo, the license plate game trying to find as many different states as we could, and my favorite - thealphabet game where you have to find words on billboards and signs starting with each letter. My sister is only 5 so she's not that good at it yet, but I beat my parents like a million times! When we finally got there, the first thing we did was go to this gigantic water park called Dollywood's Splash Country. There were SO many water slides and pools and it was like a million degrees outside, so we stayed there all day splashing around. My favorite was this one crazy slide called Fire Tower Falls that was like 10 stories tall! You had to climb up a bazillion steps to get to the top, but then you got to zoom down this huge winding slide. I went down it like 20 times! The next day, we went hiking in the actual Great Smoky Mountains. Our hiking trail was called Laurel Falls Trail and it was 2.6 miles long total. That might not sound super far, but when you're a kid, it feels like you're walking to the other side of the planet! About halfway through, we came across this gorgeous waterfall that was like 80 feet tall. We stopped to eat our packed lunches while sitting on the rocks and dangling our feet in the cool water. Lily thought that was just about the coolest thing ever.On the hike back, my dad let me lead the way and use his hiking stick. I felt like a super outdoorsy mountain explorer! Wesaw some wild turkeys, tons of butterflies, and these crazy looking mushrooms growing on a fallen tree trunk. Our tour guide told us those were called "chicken of the woods" mushrooms because they kind of look and taste like chicken if you cook them up. I don't know if I'd be brave enough to eat a mushroom though, no matter what it's called! The next couple of days, we did more outdoorsy stuff like going on a tour through these really old historic cabins from the 1800s that showed what life was like for settlers back then. We also rode the aerial tram up to the top of one of the mountains for an awesome view of the whole area. My dad's favorite part was the part where we went horseback riding through a section of the forest. I got to ride a beautiful brown and white horse named Rocky!Probably the highlight of the whole trip for me though was the night we went to Dollywood - an entire theme park owned by the famous country singer Dolly Parton! They had so many fun roller coasters and rides. My favorite was the Wild Eagle coaster that did tons of loops and turns and even went backwards for part of it! So crazy! We also saw this amazing show called Dreamland Drive-In that had singing, dancing, and stunts with cool special effects. On our very last day, we visited this interesting little town called Gatlinburg that had tons of shops and restaurants and mini golf courses all built into the side of the mountain. We played a few rounds of mini golf (my sister and I won of course!) and got some delicious fudge and taffy as a souvenir to take home from one of the candy shops.I could not have asked for a better family vacation! We saw and did so many awesome things, from riding rollercoasters to hiking waterfalls to horseback riding. Not to mention all the hilarious memories we made, like when a sassy groundhog stole my mom's sandwich while we were picnicking or my dad getting dizzy after whitewater rafting and doing loopy circles on the riverbank afterwards. My face still hurts from laughing so hard! We took a ton of pictures too so we'll be able to look back and remember this epic trip forever.I'm already counting down the days until our next big family adventure! Maybe next time we can go somewhere totally different, like the beach or a big city. But no matter where we go, if my mom, dad, and silly little sister Lily are there with me, I know we'll have an absolute blast making more hilarious memories. That's what I love most about my family!篇5My Amazing Journey to the Eleven Schools in HubeiHello everyone! It was such a fun and memorable experience!First, let me tell you a little bit about the Eleven Schools in Hubei. They are a group of schools located in the beautiful province of Hubei, China. These schools are known for their excellent education system and talented students. Every year, they organize a special event called the Second Joint Examination, where students from different schools come together to showcase their knowledge and skills.I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the participants in this year's Second Joint Examination. The journey began with a long bus ride to Hubei. I was a little nervous but also very excited to meet students from other schools. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly teachers and students who made us feel right at home. The first day of the examination was filled with various activities. We had a spelling bee, where we had to spell words correctly. It was challenging, but I did my best. Then, we had a math competition where we had to solve tricky problems. I love math, so I had a lot of fun with this! The second day was all about creativity. We had an art competition where we had to paint a beautiful landscape. I chose to paint the picturesque mountains and rivers of Hubei. It was so much fun to express my imagination through art. After that, we had a music performance. I played the piano and was amazed by the talent of my fellow participants. On the final day, we had a teamwork challenge. We were divided into groups and had to work together to solve puzzles and riddles. It was a test of our communication andproblem-solving skills. My group did a great job, and we were all so proud of ourselves.Apart from the examination, we also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful province of Hubei. We visited the famous Three Gorges Dam, which was absolutely breathtaking. We also went on a boat ride along the Yangtze River and learned about the rich history of the region. The food in Hubei was delicious too! I tried traditional dishes like hot dry noodles and spicy fish. Yummy! The journey came to an end with an award ceremony. Although I didn't win any prizes, I felt like a winner because of all the new friends I made and the incredible memories I created. We exchanged contact information and promised to stay in touch.Overall, my journey to the Eleven Schools in Hubei was an unforgettable experience. My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I just started 5th grade a few weeks ago. My teacher asked us to write about what we did over summer vacation, so I'll tell you all about my totally awesome summer! It started out kind of boring at first. My parents both had to work a lot, so I was home alone quite a bit. I played a ton of videogames and watched lots of cartoons and movies. That was fun for a little while, but after a few weeks I was really bored! Then my mom said we were going to take a long trip to visit my grandparents in their village. I was pretty excited because I love going there! My grandparents live in a small village out in the countryside, and it's always an adventure. We took a long train ride to get there. I really enjoy riding on trains and looking out the window at all the scenery going by. The villages, fields, rivers, and mountains are so beautiful and different from the city I live in. About halfway through the trip, the train stopped for a while and I got to run around and stretch my legs on the platform. I even saw a street vendor selling delicious meat skewers that my dad bought for a snack! When we finally arrived, my grandparents were waiting for us at the station with their truck. We drove for about 30 minutes down all these windy roads through little villages and farms until we got to their house. As soon as we got there, my grandma fed us the most amazing homemade dumplings! She's an amazing cook.My grandparents' village is the best. There's no tall buildings, just little houses surrounded by gardens, fields, and hills. The air is so fresh and clean. At night, you can see every single star in thesky. During the days I was there, I got to run around outside for hours and go on adventures. One morning, my grandpa took me and my little cousin Xiaohui down to the stream to catch fish and frogs with a net. We didn't catch any fish, but we foundso many cool frogs, bugs, and little critters in the water. In the afternoon, my grandma showed us how to make zongzi (those yummy sticky rice balls stuffed with fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves). It was hard work, but really fun to learn.Another day, my grandpa took Xiaohui and I on a long hike up into the hills and forests behind the village. We saw so many amazing things - wild trees and flowers, little waterfalls, birds, and even a couple of deer! We took a path up to the top of one of the hills where we could see the whole village below and valleys stretching out for miles. The view was breathtaking. I felt so free and happy up there. On our last few days, Xiaohui and I just ran around the village playing games and exploring. We caught butterflies and grasshoppers, had games of kick-the-shuttlecock in the fields, and drew pictures with chalk on the village walkways and roads.A bunch of the neighborhood kids joined in too and we allbecame good friends by the end. I was really sad when it was time to leave and head back home. The train ride back seemed to take forever. Out the window, I watched the scenery turn from small villages to bigger towns and cities as we got closer to home. I thought about all the fun I had - catching critters, learning to make zongzi, hiking in the mountains, running around playing with my new friends, eating my grandma's amazing cooking. I felt so lucky to have grandparents who live in such a beautiful, peaceful place. I made a wish that I could visit again very soon.Well, that's the story of my awesome summer vacation! Getting to experience a completely different way of life from my usual city routine was the best. I'll never forget the adventures, the nature, the freedom, and the quality time with my family out in that village. It's a summer I'll remember forever. I already can't wait for next year's vacation!。

关键词:贫困交加、振作、信心;
