“啪——”凡卡正在整理房间时,老板突然中上来打他一巴掌,凡卡还没明白怎么回事时,老板就破口大骂:“你这小兔崽子!没进过允许乱动东西!看看!看看!放在柜台上的墨水怎么回事?你用了是不是?!”凡卡惊恐的看着老板凶神恶煞的脸,颤抖的说:“我……我只是好奇的动了动……拧开盖子又盖回去了……其他真……真的没动过……”话还没说完,老板就上来毒打他一顿,先是一巴掌,后是揪耳朵,然后又是踢他的脚……凡卡被打的脸上青一块紫一块的。
完后,老板叫他照顾孩子,凡卡抽泣着,想:该死的东西!恶毒的东西!我的信已经寄出去了,我也马上就能回去,爷爷一定会来接我的,一定!
凡卡盼啊盼,希望爷爷能来接他,可爷爷就是没来,凡卡渐渐失望了。
两个星期后,老板重重地把信扔到正在抹地的凡卡面前:“小子,我就知道你用了墨水写了信!哼!乡下捎来的口信说你爷爷早就死了!你就别指望回去了!”凡卡听了脸色苍白,他惊呆了:不!爷爷不会就这么丢下我的!这不是真的……
过了几天,凡卡等老板一家和店里的伙计去做礼拜时,急忙披上旧棉袄,赤着脚。
不顾一切的奔向去自己乡下的路——他要去找爷爷!凡卡拼命地跑,生怕被老板抓回去。
但他还是因为太饿了,晕倒在路上…。
凡卡缓缓睁开眼睛,发现自己在一间陌生的小木屋里,正躺在一张床上。
这是,一位妇女走进来,说:“孩子,你醒了?”“这里是?”凡卡说。
