Those Amazing Teachers!

Teachers never stop the learning process. Just because it is "summer vacation" doesn't mean they aren't working or thinking about school a whole lot. There are many times that I have had to kick teachers out of school because they are spending too much of their hard-earned vacation here!
教师们从没有停止学习,既使是暑假,也并不意味着他们没有工作和学习,他们还是在想着学校的事务。我不得不对于经常在假期刻苦学习的老师作些提醒,让他们休息一下。
As the end of the school year approaches, I include in the school newsletter some notes about what the teachers on our staff have planned for their summer vacations. Those activities might include
在学期结束的全校大会上,我把一些老师打算如何过暑假的计划跟大家说一说,包括
∙attending workshops;
∙参加工作坊
∙taking classes at a university;
∙在大学中充电
∙reading books about improving their instructional techniques;
∙阅读与他们提升教学技能有关的书籍
∙planning new curriculum with other teachers on their teams or grade levels; or
∙与同年级的老师讨论新课程教学计划,或者
∙coming to school to do "just a few things." (I heard that one a lot!)
∙到学校来干点什么
Including those notes in my newsletter helps remind parents and others in the community that teachers might not be on the job physically during the summer, but most of them are there mentally for a big part of their downtime.
在我的校报中,这些小贴士帮助提醒家长和社区中的其它人,也许老师在暑假中并不在岗位上,而他们中的大多数人都在想着下面的事情。
