Video 1 Meal Arrangements
Wang Hui: Mr. Black, now let’s get down to meal arrangements. We’re
you three breakfasts and six dinners.
Mr. Black: That’s right. May I know the costs of meals.
Wang Hui: Of course, the breakfast is 15 yuan per meal per person. The dinner is 35 yuan.
Mr. Black: Would dishes be included?
Wang Hui: Yes, you know the people to Jiuzhaigou are ethnic Tibetans. Their food is quite . Besides, two dinners will be open to your own choice, so you can try some other local foods you’d like.
Mr. Black: Great. That sounds quite reasonable.
Video 2 Food Introduction & Meal Arrangements
Li Min: Ladies and gentlemen, look right in front of you. We are close to the Jiuzhaigou scenic site. Since it is getting dark, we’ll visit the scenic area early tomorrow morning, OK? Mrs. White: That’s fine. I’m a little hungry now.
Li Min: OK. We’ll be staying at the local Tibetan-style Sunny Hotel. You’ll enjoy dishes with typical Jiuzhaigoou flavors. Such as smoked barbecue, including yak meat. Tibetan food tastes light and mild, reflecting more back-to-nature trends.
Mrs. White: How about drinks?
Li Min: Butter tea and barley wine taste very nice. You should all try some.
Mrs. White: OK. I’ll try some later.
Li Min: Everyone, here we are. Please follow me to the hotel lobby to get your room cards after getting off the bus, and then you can go to your rooms for a rest. Dinner will be ready at half past six in the hotel restaurant. See you there.
Chinese Cuisine
Chinese cuisine is one of the most precious treasures of Chinese culture. Marcelous food is presented in a wide variety of styles according to differences in geography, climate, customs, and specialties. Generally speaking, Chinese cuisine may be divided into four branches: Shandong, Sichuan, Guangdong and Huaiyang.
Shandong cuisine stresses pure flavor, tasting somewhat salty as well as fresh, tender, fragrant, and crisp. Crystal Pork Hock, Brine Shrimp, and Sweet and Sour Tenderloin are its specialties.
Sichuan cuisine has a history of over 1,000 years, including more than 3,000 varieties and hundreds of dishes. It is spicy, crisp and colorful as well. Traditional dishes include Mapo Tofu, Kung Pao Chicken, Bioled Fish, Twice-cooked Pork Slices, Ants Climbing a Tree, and Dongpo Pork.
Guangdong cuisine tastes fresh, tender, cool, smooth, ad thick. Its representative dishes are Crispy Suckling Pig, Oster Sauce Beef and Wenchang Chick, among others.
Huaiyang cuisine is popular in JIangsu Province. It is light, fresh and colorful. Its famous dishes include Beggars’ Chicken, Aweet and Sour Mandarin Fish, and Salted Duck,etc.
There are also many Chinese snacks that foreign guests enjoy, such as dumplings(jiaoai), spring rolls, rice balls, zongzi(sticky rce wrapped in leaves) and mooncakes.
