Page 21Christophorus 326Open to Your DesiresSome drive convertibles; others drive sports cars. At Porsche, we still pay attention to nuanceslike that. And to make sure everybody can enjoy the best of both worlds, we’re offeringa powerful solution: as of September 8, we’re once again sending a Porsche 911Turbo Cabrioto the starting line. PremiereChristophorus 326Page 20For many driving enthusiasts, open-air pleasure is the pinnacle of the performance pyramid. And this kind of free-spiritedness is a great tradition at Porsche. For twenty years, the top model in the 911 family has come with a soft top. With ease, the 911 Turbo Cabrio pushes the limits of all emotional scales. In addition to all the driving characteristics of a high-performance sports car, it also provides that incomparable wind-in-your-hair feeling. In its latest evolutionary form, the Turbo Cabrio has nothing to hide, and wants to show off its skills. With boost from twin turbochargers featuring variable turbine geometry (VTG), the 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine puts out 480 bhp (353 kW). The peak torque of 620 newton-meters (457 lb.-ft.) is already there at 1,950 rpm. With the “overboost” function that’s part of the optional Sports Chrono Package Turbo, up to 680 newton-meters (501 lb.-ft.) is even possible for brief spurts. The manual-transmission version does the sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62mph) in just four seconds; with the Tiptronic S, that time has been shortened to 3.8 seconds. Both versions’ top track speed is 310 km/h (192 mph). The 911 Turbo Cabrio with manual transmission consumes 12.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (18.25mpg), admirable for such a powerful automobile. The Turbo Cabrio’s chassis has been specially tuned for the car’s open body and includes as standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The new 911 Turbo Cabrio shares the coupe version’s electrifying road performance, along with an ex-tremely high driving-safety standard. Moreover, Porsche Stabil-ity Management (PSM) and the actively controlled all-wheel drive system, along with Porsche Traction Management (PTM),contribute to its outstanding performance. The new all-wheel drive system uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch to distribute the engine’s power between the front and the rear axles as needed. This new system can affect the torque split in 100 milliseconds, which is faster than the engine’s reaction time to load changes. With a drag coefficient Cd of 0.31, the Turbo Cabrio comes close to the value of the 911 coupe. In combination with the rear spoiler, which automatically extends 30 millimeters (11/4in.) further out than in the coupe when the car reaches 120 km/h (75 mph), the Turbo Cabrio is the only convertible to produce negative lift at its rear axle. The passive safety systems include six airbags as standard. Like all 911 Cabrio models, the Turbo Cabrio is equipped with a comprehensive roll-over protection system using tubular steel integrated into the windshield frame-work and automatically deploying roll-over protection behind the rear seats. The Turbo Cabrio is of course equipped with a brake system that is commensurate with its performance poten-tial. The six-piston fixed-position brake calipers in front have been taken from the Porsche Carrera GT supercar. And the light-weight Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), proven on the racetrack, is offered as an option. The extensive equipment standard in the 911Turbo Cabrio in-cludes, among other things, bi-xenon headlights, 19-inch forged alloy wheels with a two-tone design, air conditioning, a wind de-flector, and Porsche Communications Management (PCM) in-cluding a navigation module, a 5.8-inch color monitor, and theBose Surround Sound System.BNICARAGUA Turbo-Ready:Dream Roads of the WorldRoute: From Alaska’s North to Tierra del Fuego at the southern tip of South America, this classic cross-border highway extends through the full length of the double continent and passesthrough fourteen or nineteen countries,depend-ing on which route you take.Pit stops: Costa Rica not only is particularly beau-tiful,but also is considered the safest country inCentral America—a recommended stretch of thePanamericana to try rmation: Costa Rica: Panamericanapart of the country connects Canada’s west andeast coasts and passes through all ten provinces, including the capital,Ottawa.Pit stops: Major cities like Vancouver,Montreal, and Toronto for urban enthusiasts, plus plenty of attractions for nature lovers, including the Cana-dian side of Niagara Falls—on a little side trip.Information: Canada:Trans-Canada Highway Germany: Romantische Strasse(Romantic Road)Start: Length:320 kmAustralia: Great Ocean RoadRoute: Along the winding road on Australia’ssouthern coast, passing through the famous va-cation resorts of Torquay,Anglesa, and Lorne withtheir splendid beaches, come some spectacularviews of the ocean, such as the one at Apollo Bay,and Port Campbell National Park, with its ruggedsteep coasts; ending up at the picturesquesurfers’ town of Warrnambool.Pit stops: Don’t miss the “Twelve Apostles,” 45-meter-high (150-ft.) rock formations rising fromthe sea at Port Campbell National Park; Bell’sBeach at Torquay, with its annual Easter surfingcompetition; whale-watching from M ay throughSeptember in Warrnambool; or the colonial-stylefishing town of Port Fairy, with more than 50 his-toric buildings.Information: JOHN’SStart:Destination: Length: 350 km (220 miles)Route: The route leads from Würzburg in northern Bavaria southward toward Füssen along country roads, past beautiful charming tourist towns like Rothenburg-on-Tauber and Augsburg.Pit stops: German history with every kilometer:like the medieval old town of Rothenburg-on-Tauber; the Augsburg Fuggerei,a sixteenth-centu-ry public housing project; the Wieskirche church;or impressive Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the creations of Bavaria’s “mad king,” Louis rmation: Start: Alaska Length: Start:Victoria, British Columbia Destination: St. John’s, Newfoundland Length: 7,800 km (4,850 miles)Route: Leads along the Indian Ocean from Mossel Bay via Victoria Bay,Knysna,Plettenberg Bay,and Jeffrey’s Bay to Port Elizabeth, past high plateaus and dramatic coastal rock cliffs; hidden beaches, dune landscapes, mangrove forests, and stretch-es of meadows—in bloom,if you time it just right.Pit stops: For nature lovers,Wilderness National Park between Victoria Bay and Knysna; for fish and seafood enthusiasts,Knysna with its many good restaurants; for adrenalin fans,Bloukrantz with the over 200-meter-high (700 ft.) bungee jump off the Bloukrantz Bridge.Information: way you’re in the seaside lane with its spectacular view mile after mile.Pit stops: Literature fans can stop in Salinas to visit the John Steinbeck Museum; the writer de-scribed the town’s fish industry in Cannery Row .Sports fans can check out the Surfing Museum in Santa Cruz. Use caution if you ever drive your vehicle on very rough or rutted roads. You could damage the suspension and underbody by bottoming out. Going too fast over parking lot ‘‘speed bumps’’ can also cause damage.
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. In cold weather, turn off all electrical accessories to reduce the drain on the battery.
3. Push the clutch pedal down all the way. The ENGINE START button has no effect unless the clutch pedal is pressed.
6. If the engine does not start within 15 seconds, or starts but stalls right away, repeat step 5 with the accelerator pedal pressed halfway down. If the engine starts, release pressure on the accelerator pedal so the engine does not race.
Porsche 新 911 RSR 赛车数据表说明书
Press Release June 23, 2017IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, round 5 in Watkins Glen/USANew 911 RSR tackles another reliability tests in the USAStuttgart. With the six-hour race at Watkins Glen on 2 July – one of America’s sports car classics – the IMSA SportsCar Championship picks up pace again after taking a break for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Porsche GT Team sends two new 911 RSR to contest the event in the US state of New York. The 510 hp racer, designed from scratch by Porsche Motorsport in Weissach based on the seventh generation of the iconic 911 sports car, tackles the strongly represented GTLM class. In the GTD cate-gory, customer teams campaign the Porsche 911 GT3 R. The Porsche squad travels to Watkins Glen as the leader (driver and team) of the North American Endurance Cup. The other three events that make up this prestigious long-distance reliability competition are Daytona, Sebring, and Petit Le Mans. The raceThe storied Watkins Glen International racetrack, nicknamed “The Glen”, is 5.472-kilometres long. It was built around a forested hilltop and opened in 1956. For many years, Watkins Glen hosted Formula 1: From 1961 to 1980, the United States Grand Prix was contested on the outskirts of this tranquil town, with Jim Clark and Graham Hill at the top of the winner’s list with three victories each. 2015 marks the last Por-sche victory at Watkins Glen courtesy of Wolf Henzler and Bryan Sellers in the 911 RSR.The Porsche driversPatrick Pilet (France) and Dirk Werner (Germany) share the cockpit of the #911 Por-sche 911 RSR. Manning the #912 vehicle are Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and – ashis maiden race as a Porsche works driver – Gianmaria Bruni (Italy). Fielding the 911 GT3 R in the GTD class are the customer squads Park Place Motorsports with Jörg Bergmeister, Alegra Motorsports with Michael Christensen as well as CORE Au-tosports.The Porsche vehiclesAs a completely new development, the 911 RSR celebrated its race debut in January 2017 at the Daytona 24-hour race. It is campaigned by the Porsche GT Team in both the IMSA SportsCar Championship and the Sports Car World Endurance Champion-ship WEC. Depending on the size of the restrictor, the motor, which is now positioned in front of the rear axle, puts out around 375 kW (510 hp). The level of downforce and the aerodynamic efficiency were significantly improved. The 911 GT3 R, mounted with the new ultra-modern, four-litre, flat-six engine with direct fuel injection, was de-signed by Porsche for worldwide GT3 series on the basis of the 911 GT3 RS produc-tion sports car. The 368+kW (500 hp) customer sport racer celebrated its first 2017 victory at Daytona. The scheduleThe six-hour race takes off on Sunday, 2 July, at 10.10 hrs local time (16.10 hrs CEST) and can be viewed live outside the USA on .Pre-race quotesDr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Vice President and GT Cars: “The race at Watkins Glen is a real sports car classic. The tradition-steeped racetrack is very demanding and it’s the next big challenge for the drivers, most of whom tackled the 24 Hours of Le Mans recently. We’ve successfully completed the first endurance races in the USA with our new 911 RSR. As a result, we’re well placed in the North American Endurance Cup, the prestigious long-distance competition in which our 911 RSR has managed to earn points thanks to its reliability. We are keen to reinforce our top position by achieving a good result at Watkins Glen. We’re particularly pleased to have Gianmaria Bruni contest his first race for Porsche here at Watkins Glen and we wel-come one of the fastest GT pilots to the Porsche motorsport family. Our driver lineup is now set for the rest of the season.”Marco Ujhasi,Overall Project Manager GT Works Motorsport: “Despite the time pressure of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we’ve taken the time to test at Watkins Glen. To find a perfect vehicle setup for this challenging circuit is particularly tricky. The test yielded some very useful data. Now we have to use the practice and qualifying ses-sions well and then we can line up on the grid with our 911 RSR fully prepared.” Sebastian Golz, Project Manager GT Customer Motorsport: “The many long, sweep-ing corners on this racetrack put the tyres under far more stress than on other cir-cuits. Hence, managing the tyres correctly will be a key to success.”Patrick Pilet (911 RSR #911):“Watkins Glen is a great racetrack. I’m very much looking forward to racing our new 911 RSR there. The circuit has a lot of fast corners, so the track should suit us perfectly. This race will certainly be another highlight of the season.”Dirk Werner (911 RSR #911): “It’s fantastic that the season finally takes off again in the USA, especially with a classic like Watkins Glen. These historic racetracks are particularly fun to drive on. Now the decisive phase of the championship begins, with three races in July. Only those who earn points regularly will ultimately end up amongst the frontrunners.”Laurens Vanthoor (911 RSR #912):“Watkins Glen is new for me. But judging by everything I’ve heard and seen it’s a great racetrack with many fast corners and very few run-off areas. I’ll prepare with the help of videos and simulations and then during practice I’ll try to familiarise myself with the layout as quickly as possible.” Gianmaria Bruni (911 RSR #912): “I can hardly wait to contest my first race for Por-sche with the new 911 RSR. Up until now I’ve only been able to test in the USA. But that was great fun and it helped me to get acquainted with the car. Of course I’m also curious about Watkins Glen. This racetrack is completely new for me but I’m hoping that I can call on my test experience there and turn it into a good race result.”Jörg Bergmeister (911 GT3 R #73): “The six-hour race in Watkins Glen is a major sports car classic in the USA and one of the season highlights for me. The weather, which can be rather changeable in this region, can play a decisive role. It would be great if we could celebrate our first victory of the season on this storied racetrack.” Michael Christensen (911 GT3 R #28): “Watkins Glen is a great race on a very de-manding track. I’m looking forward to driving again with Alegra Motorsports in the 911 GT3 R. Its a fantastic crew.”Please note: Photos and videos of IMSA SportsCar Championship are available for journalists from the Porsche Press Database on https://presse.porsche.de. Porsche 911 Speedster Concept 公布说明书
Press Release 28 September 2018American premiere at Rennsport Reunion VI in CaliforniaPorsche 911 Speedster Concept fascinates US audienceStuttgart. The Porsche 911 Speedster Concept again receives an enthusiastic wel-come at its third public appearance. Following its world premiere on 8 June in Zuffen-hausen, Germany, on the occasion of the “70 years of Porsche Sports Cars” anniver-sary celebration and first demonstration drives at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, the open-top concept car is now celebrating its premiere before the US public at the Rennsport Reunion VI in California. The 911 Speedster Concept is based on the current 991 series and also offers a preview of a potential new equipment range from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. With the Heritage design packages, the Stuttgart-based Sports Car manufacturer will provide a modern interpretation of the distinctive themes and colours of its Sports Car history from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. In addition to the 911 Speedster Concept, Porsche is presenting another unique product at the Laguna Seca Raceway as part of Rennsport Reunion VI: the Porsche Design ‘911 Speedster’ concept chronograph. A decision about a possible series-production ver-sion of the 911 Speedster Concept will be made very soon. With a purist concept, the two-tone drivable concept car – probably the best present Porsche has given itself for its anniversary – reflects the brand core of the Stuttgart Sports Car manufacturer in precise clarity and historically accurate design. It was de-veloped at Porsche Motorsport in close cooperation with Style Porsche and the Por-sche Exclusive Manufaktur. It is powered by a flat-six engine with more than 500 hp. It does without turbocharging and achieves engine speeds of up to 9,000 rpm. This power is transferred to the rear wheels by a six-speed manual transmission. The de-velopment focus was on a pure driving experience.Strong partnership: Top performance meets fine craftsmanshipThe cooperation between Porsche Motorsport and the Exclusive Manufaktur for the 911 Speedster Concept – as the first glimpse of a forthcoming Heritage design strategy – has historical roots, as the two divisions have the same origins. Porsche Exclusive once fulfilled special requests from racing customers, such as the legendary 935 Street, designed with a flat front end. The last joint project between Porsche Motorsport and Porsche Exclusive was the Porsche 911 Turbo S Lightweight (Type 964) from 1992. With the expansion of motor sports at the Weissach Development Centre, the two divisions parted ways. As specialists for manufacture of individually crafted vehi-cles, Porsche Exclusive concentrated with a passion for detail on individual customer requests and limited production runs, such as the 911 Sport Classic of 2009 or the 911 Speedster of the 997 series of 2010, of which only 356 were built. As a general rule, one-off products are almost always possible within the boundaries of the applicable legislation and while also ensuring that Porsche requirements relating to quality and long service life are met. In the current fiscal year, there is a particularly strong demand for personalisation of GT models. This shows that GT customers, who were previously interested primarily in purism and performance, now also want to express their person-ality in colours and custom equipment. The numerous lovingly executed details of the 911 Speedster Concept clearly demon-strate just how well the revitalised collaboration works. The handcrafted paintwork in the classic GT Silver and White colours, together with the so-called ‘spears’ on the front wings, reference the brand's racing history. The same applies to the tank cap positioned in the middle of the bonnet in 1950s style, the exterior mirrors in the classic Talbot shape and the special design of the headlights. The transparent and opaque surfaces of the headlight covers resemble the shape of a cross – a further nod to the early years of Porsche in motorsport. Both the wide B-pillars and the rear end are decorated with milled and gold-plated Speedster lettering.Tribute to a dream: 911 Speedster concept chronograph by Porsche Design Porsche Design has created a special timepiece for the new 911 Speedster Concept: the ‘911 Speedster’ concept chronograph. Just like the vehicle, it is initially a one-off;subsequent production is currently under consideration. The chronograph case is made of a lightweight titanium, with a black titanium carbide coating to highlight its sporty design. The matt-black dial – similar to the instrument cluster of the 911 Speed-ster Concept – is characterised by its excellent readability. Instead of a small second hand, a function display with ‘911 Speedster’ lettering positioned at 9 o'clock indicates that the movement is running. As a special gesture on the occasion of the 70th anni-versary of Porsche Sports Cars, the ‘70’ on the tachymeter is highlighted in a con-trasting colour. The leather strap matches the interior of the concept vehicle and is made of identical types of leather. The timepiece is powered by the first independently developed Porsche Design calibre, the Werk 01.200 with flyback function, load path optimised movement bridge and offi-cial COSC certification. The Swiss movement is the result of three years of develop-ment and state-of-the-art manufacturing methods. It combines engineering and watch-making skill with the know-how from sports car construction, and impresses with pre-cision, functionality and performance.Looking back: Speedster models from Porsche made their debut 66 years ago Various Speedster models have been part of Porsche company history since 1952. They combine open-top driving pleasure with outstanding driving dynamics. The fore-father of these models is the 356 1500 America Roadster, whose aluminium body was manufactured by hand. It weighed 60 kilograms less than the 356 Coupé and its top speed of 175 km/h (108 mph) from its 70 hp flat-four engine was impressive at the time. The exclusive Sports Car, developed for the US market and built only 16 times, already featured key elements of the Speedster design with slot-in windows for the doors, a folding rain-cover top and lightweight bucket seats.Porsche produced a significantly less expensive version in 1954, which also included ‘Speedster’ in the model name and quickly caused a sensation in the world of motor-sports. For the first time, it combined the sheet steel body of the coupé with a flat windscreen, reduced interior equipment and a rain top. In the USA, the 356 1500Speedster cost less than 3,000 dollars and became an instant hit in the sunny coastal states. Hollywood icon James Dean was also an enthusiastic racing driver and chose this purist model, which is dedicated solely to the sheer pleasure of driving. Other var-iants followed. The model reached its peak in 1957 with the 356 A 1500 GS Carrera GT Speedster. It was not until 1988 that a Speedster variant was introduced in the 911 series, as the crowning highlight of the discontinued G-model generation. It was based on the air-cooled 3.2-litre six-cylinder engine with up to 231 hp and – unlike the 911 Speedster Clubsport concept car previously shown at the IAA in Frankfurt – featured a wide turbo look. At the same time, 161 units with a lean Carrera body were also produced. They were intended for export and are particularly prized by collectors today. It is exactly the other way around with the successor model: Between 1992 and 1993, 930 units of the 911 Carrera 2 Speedster of the 964 generation rolled off the production line. In addition, there were 15 vehicles with wide turbo bodies, which are currently attracting top prices.Even more rare is the opulent 911 Carrera Speedster based on the 993 series. Only two of this model were developed by the Porsche Exclusive department – for Ferdi-nand Alexander Porsche and an American collector. Customers didn’t get their hands on a Speedster version of the 911 again until 2010, when it debuted as a limited pro-duction run from Porsche Exclusive based on the 997 model generation. The Sports Car with the shortened windscreen was produced in a strictly limited edition of 356 units.Images in Porsche Newsroom (newsroom.porsche.de) and in the Porsche press database (presse.porsche.de).。

News Release October 18, 2022 No. 100/22Public Relations Department1 of 4Public Relations Department Product CommunicationsProduct Communications Luke VandezandeFrank Wiesmann Phone +1.770.290.3834Phone +1.770.290.3414 ***************************************************The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera TManual transmission, upgraded standard performance features and weight reduction mean pure funAtlanta. Porsche is adding the 911 Carrera T variant to the 911 model line. The letter T stands for “Touring” and signifies models with equipment that enhances both driving pleasure and performance. The new 911 Carrera T is equipped with a seven-speed manual transmission and rear seat delete as standard, though the rear seat is available as a no-cost option if desired. Optionally, an eight-speed PDK is available as well for no additional cost. Thanks to the standard seven-speed manual transmission and several features that focus on saving weight, the new 911 Carrera T weighs 3,254 lbs., making it 100 lbs. lighter than a standard 911 Carrera (PDK only). Fitted with a PASM Sport Suspension as standard including a 10 mm ride height reduction compared to the standard 911 Carrera as well as reduced sound insulation, the new 911 Carrera T is made for driving enthusiasts.PASM Sport Suspension and Sport Chrono Package as standardThe new 911 Carrera T is positioned between the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S. It adopts the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine from the 911 Carrera generating 379 hp and 331 lb.-ft. of torque. The T variant also utilizes the mechanical limited slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) that is standard on the 911 Carrera S and is not available for the 911 Carrera. Additionally, the 911 Carrera T also comes standard with the Sport Chrono Package and PASM Sport Suspension, the latter of which is optional for the 911 Carrera S and not available for the 911 Carrera. Rear Axle Steering is optionally available with the 911 Carrera T and unavailable on the 911 Carrera. With the standard seven-speed manual transmission, the 911 Carrera T accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds. With the no-cost eight-speed PDK the 0-60 mph sprint is reduced to 3.8 seconds. The top track speed is 181 mph regardless of transmission choice.News Release October 18 2022 No. 100/22Public Relations Department2 of 4Public Relations Department Product CommunicationsProduct Communications Luke VandezandeFrank Wiesmann Phone +1.770.290.3834Phone +1.770.290.3414 ***************************************************Further equipment that is specific to the T includes Titanium Grey Carrera S wheels measuring 20 inches in diameter at the front and 21 inches at the rear. The wheels are fitted with tires measuring 245/35 (front) and 305/30 (rear). The 911 Carrera T also comes standard with a GT Sport steering wheel, Sport Exhaust System and four-way Sport Seats Plus. Along with the deletion of the rear seats and the reduced sound deadening, the 911 T is fitted with thinner glass and a smaller, more compact battery.Successful Touring concept across multiple model linesThe “T” in the model designation of the Porsche 911 Carrera T stands for Touring and is rooted in the homologation of the 911 T as a touring car in 1968. The original 911 T was offered until 1973. In 2017, Porsche revived this particularly pure and light 911 variant in the Type 991 model line. Since then, the concept has successfully been implemented in other model lines with the 718 Cayman T, 718 Boxster T and Macan T.Exclusive interior and exterior detailsSpecial dark grey accents characterize the interior of the 911 Carrera T. Contrasting elements such as the upper and lower mirror covers as well as the model designation on the doors and rear of the car are painted in Agate Grey. Furthermore, the Sport Exhaust System features high-gloss black tailpipes.T he focus on performance is continued inside the car with standard 4-way adjustable Sort Seats Plus. Interior trim in matte black and decorative inlays in high-gloss black round off the T package. Customers that seek an even higher level of differentiation can choose the optional Carrera T Interior Package. This adds seat belts in Slate Grey or Lizard Green, stripes on the seat centers in one of these colors, decorative stitching and 911 logos in the headrests. Floor mats with logos and stitching in Lizard Green or Slate Grey are also part of this optional package.News Release Public Relations Department3 of 4Public Relations Department Product CommunicationsProduct Communications Luke VandezandeFrank Wiesmann Phone +1.770.290.3834Phone +1.770.290.3414 ***************************************************October 18, 2022No. 100/22Attractive options and color choicesOptionally, the 911 Carrera T can be ordered with 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus or the particularly sporty and light Full Bucket Seats, the latter of which feature seat centers in RaceTex.
