We offer a large selection of Bussmann series automotive circuit breakers including both OEM-style and fuse-replacement devices.High amp circuit breakersHigh amp circuit breakers are available for automotive and marineapplications in Type I and Type III reset modes. Typically used in auxiliary and accessory circuits for trucks, busses, RVs and boats, they are available in weatherproof/waterproof panel and flush mount versions. They can also be used in battery charging systems that use battery isolators to manage and protect batteries in multi-battery installations.T ype I - automatic resetType I circuit breakers automatically reset after opening. If the fault orovercurrent condition still exists, the breaker will continue to cycle between ON and OFF positions until the overcurrent problem is corrected. Thesedevices are sometimes called "cycling breakers." Type I/Automatic Reset circuit breakers do not address, or correct, overcurrent or fault conditions. They only react by cycling OFF and ON. Any overcurrent or fault condition that causes a Type I circuit breaker to operate should be corrected as soon as possible. Continued vehicle operation with an overcurrent or fault condition (causing the Type I circuit breaker to cycle) is NOT recommended.T ype II - modified resetType II circuit breakers will remain “tripped” by an internal resistor (in the OFF position) as long as the circuit is powered. Type II breakers can be reset by turning the circuit OFF , or by turning the ignition switch to the OFF position. The tension is relieved on the belt.6.Remove the pulleys and the belt.Use a wrench to hold the pulley in place while turning the collar clockwise with a hex driver.The pulley has a left-hand thread.ATTENTION: Exposed parts that move can cause severe injury. Do not operate the electric cylinder without the cover in place. Be sure to collect the square nuts if you are removing the motor.b.Reposition the motor and or actuator cylinder.c.Attach the actuator cylinder with four bolts.d.T orque the actuator cylinder bolts to values shown in the following table.e.Attach the motor by using four bolts and four square nuts.Do not tighten bolts now.8.Place the spacer rings, belt, and pulleys on the shafts.Bottom out the pulleys to make them parallel.9.Hold the pulleys with a wrench and tighten the collar by turning the hex key counter-clockwise to the torque shown in the following table.10.Apply pressure to the base of the motor to tension the belt.IMPORTANTIf you are mounting the motor with the connectors between the actuator cylinder and the motor, rotate the motor connectors so they exit 180° away from the shaft.Cat. For over 100 years, Eaton’s Bussmann series has been at the forefront of cutting-edge design and development of circuit protection devices for the industrial, automotive, energy management, computing, medical, and consumer markets.Eaton offers its Bussmann series one-time fuses, fuse accessories, PTC resettable fuses, and ESD suppressors in a broad range of specifications for numerous applications.FusesAlmost every electronic device – from portable and consumer devices to those utilized in automotive, medical, and industrial applications – requires some degree of protection against overcurrent events. The most efficient and reliable form of overcurrent protection is the one-time fuse. As the name implies, a one-time fuse opens a circuit to prevent damage from short circuit overcurrent or overload conditions as a positive disconnect and can be replaced afterward. Eaton’s fuses serve two critical purposes:they protect components, equipment, andpeople from the risk of electric fire or shockcaused by damaging overcurrents;they reliably isolate subsystems from the mainsystem once a fault has occurred.PTC Resettable fusesEaton Bussmann series Positive TemperatureCoefficient (PTC) resettable fuses are circuitprotection devices that provide overcurrentand overtemperature protection. PTCresettable fuses can provide overcurrentprotection during fault events similar toone-time fuses, but they are resettable,allowing them to achieve longer use over theproduct’s lifetime.Each PTC fuse consists of a positivetemperature coefficient material whoseinternal resistance increases exponentiallywith an increase in operating temperature.Eaton PTC resettable fuses have twofunctional states — ON and OFF. In the ON,or “tripped” state, the device offers veryhigh resistance in response to faults suchas short-circuiting or overheating. This limitscurrent flow through the device until thefault is removed and the material cools, thenreverts to low resistance mode. In the OFF,or “standby” state, the device maintains alow resistance as the current is within a saferange.Selecting EatonBussmann series fusesEaton offers an extensive selection of fuses ina variety of configurations.
