Since+表示过去的时间短语或句子
①since+表示过去时间的词,表示从过去某时开始的动作或状态一直持续到现在,此时since是介词,如since three years ago自从三年前以来,since two months ago自从2个月前以来
since then自那时以来,since 2005从2005年以来到现在

某些动词的现在完成时可表示过去某一时间开始并一直延续到现在的动作或状态,可以和表示延续性的时间状语连用,如:for+一段时间,since+时间点/从句。表示持续动作或状态的动词多用延续性动词。

②since+句子(过去时),此过去时的句子相当于since+表示过去的时间,此时since是连词。如We have known each other since we were children.当我们还是孩子的时候,我们就认识了。
We have lived here since we moved here in 2001.我们自从2001年搬到这里来后,就一直住在这里。

since和for用法区别:
for+时间段,时间段可以是具体的数字,如for three years,for a month,也可以是泛指的时间,如a long time,several days, some time(一段时间)
