•I’m going to a concert tomorrow. •The concert starts at 7:30. •What time are you leaving? •What time does your train leave?

Do not use the present simple (I stay/ do you go etc.) for plans and arrangements:
• I am staying at home this evening. • Are you going out tonight? • Ann isn’t coming to the party next week.

I am going to do something = I have decided to do it, my intention is to do it:

Something is going to happen= it is clear now that it is sure to happen: • Look at the sky! It’s going to rain. (black clouds now → rain)

She is going to watch TV this evening. We use am/ is/ are going to… for the future: I he/ she/ it we/ you/ they am is are (not) going to do… drink… watch…
• Oh, dear! It’s 9 o’clock and I’m not ready. I’m going to be late. (9 o’clock now and not ready → late)

Sarah goes to work every day. She is always there from 8:30 until 4:30. It is 11 o’clock now. Sarah is at work. At 11 o’clock yesterday, she was at work. At 11 o’clock tomorrow, she will be at work.
But we use the present simple for timetables, trains, programmes, buses etc.:
• The train arrives at 7:30. • What time does the film finish? Compare:

We also use am/ is/ are + -ing for the future (tomorrow/ next week etc.) • Andrew is playing tennis tomorrow. • I’m not working next week.

Will + infinitive (will be/ will win/ will come etc.):
