1.用副词连接的并列句

有一些副词，如so 、therefore 、however、still、yet 等也常用来连接并列句的两个部分。有时在他们前面还可加上连词，这就更清楚地说明他们是副词了。

例如:

1)Sometning went wrong with my bike this afternoon,so I walked home.

2)All work in our socialist country serves

the people, therefore all jobs are honorable.在我们社会主义国家，一切工作都是为人民服务，因此任何工作都是光荣的。

3)The tongue is not steel ,yet it cuts.

舌头不是钢，然而它可以伤人。（谚语）

4）It doesn't look like rain ,(but )still you'd better take your umbrella with you .

2.并列句不用连词或副词的情况

如：1)Don't worry ; he will come back without doubt.（口语中）

2)Alcohol(酒精)boils at 78℃；water boils at 100℃.（意义接近）

3)Strong men are not always tall ; small people are not always weak. 状汉子不一定个子高；矮个子不一定身体弱。（意义接近）

4)Huaay up , it's getting late.（句子短）

5)It was a hot day in June , the street was busy with traffic. （意义接近）

那是六月里的一天，天气很热，街上车辆很多。

点拨：

在口语中、或句子比较短（如）、或句子的并列部分意义比较接近时，可以用逗号连接并列句。

6)Tom looked at his watch : it was already eight

o'clock .

汤姆看看他的表，已经八点了。

点拨：

并列句的分句有时还可以用冒号连接起来，而不用连词或副词。冒号后的分句有解释或说明前面分句的作用。
