• Ex. If the goods are not shipped in June, we shall be compelled to purchase elsewhere and may have to countermand our order.
• Ex. For some time past we have been urging you for an immediate dispatch of these goods, and unless this order is already on the way, it will arrive too late for the season, and so be of no use to us.

• Ex. As you have noted that 100 pieces were specified in our purchase order, however, you shipped us 120 pieces.
There are three possibilities.
• 1) If the insurer is held responsible for the losses, the claim incurred is called “Insurance Claim”.
• 2) If the carrier is held responsible for the losses, the claim incurred is called “Transportation Claim”.
3) The specifications of goods are not in compliance with the contract
• Ex. The shade of the cloth is lighter, it is not the same as the sample piece you sent to me.
• Ex. The goods arrived 5M/T short, so the buyers lodged a claim on this shipment for US$ 650 for short weight.
6) Not fulfilling the contract
• Ex. We would call your attention to Chapter 5 in the contract, in which the provisions of penalties against failures are in good performance according to the stipulated service standards.

• Ex. We found that one side of 12 cases were worn and torn and 6 cases were broken and the garments were in the open. It was obviously attributed to improper packing.
5) Goods short-delivered or short landed
• Ex. We have just received the Survey Report from the Shanghai Commodity Inspection Bureau evidencing the short weight of 18 lb.
