《超级英雄》(SUPERHERO)教学设计

一、课程分析:本课的位置处于新课程高中英语模块1(Module 1)中的第二单元
Heroes。在本单元,学生会学习到关于英雄的很多种话题,诸如宇航员,历史缔造者,体育明星乃至本课的电影明星----身残志坚的“超人”。
本课是阅读课,学生在原有的阅读人物基础上,更进一步学习描写人物的写作策略,即写作前如何创建Outline,同时,更加深一步对“英雄”这一概念的体会和理解,真正珍惜自己的健康,热爱生命,挑战挫折!
本课的重点在于掌握阅读策略:Working out meaning.
二、学情分析:学生通过以前的学习,对于人物介绍的方式大致了解。本课的话
题更贴近他们的兴趣和爱好,而且大部分的学生对“超人”都比较熟悉。所以可以利用这种情景,教授学生摈弃过去那种习惯于依赖词典查词明了词义的不良习惯,掌握Working out meaning 的阅读策略,从而大幅度提高阅读速度和理解力。因此,Working out meaning 的阅读策略也是本课的学习难点。
三、设计理念:
1,利用“超人”的电影插片,唤起学生的浓烈兴趣,奠定课堂的热烈气氛,并借助插片的情节,铺垫情意背景,帮助学生对阅读材料深刻、细致了解。
2,借助诱思探究的教学论,引导学生用眼观察,动脑思考,分析如何“透视”
构建文章的“骨架”—Outline;重视上下文语境的引导,不断反复启发、
诱导学生思考探究的途径,自己归纳阅读策略,再反复实践、验证并达到
熟练掌握。
3,教学策略:情意和启发策略(Affection & enlightenment);
学习策略:自主与合作、讨论并归纳及“工作坊”式(Learner-based &
co-operative, discussion & inductive, and workshop)。
教学辅助:多媒体课件、录音机、简笔画等辅助学生掌握并完成课堂任务。
四、学习目标:
1,情感目标:理解“英雄”概念,培养耐力,挑战挫折的积极人生态度。
2,任务目标:掌握Working out meaning的阅读策略,求取和阐述个人信息的方法,以及能够联系本文的结构,学会构建文章的Outline,同时,
掌握一些语言要点。
五、教学流程(Teaching organization):
Step 1 Warming-up and Lead-in (2 ').
T: Today we’ll continue to talk about heroes, especially film stars. Now look at the pictures on the screen. Yeah! He is a cool man. Can you guess who he is? Here are some others about him. (Presenting the pictures of Christopher Reeve). The students can’t guess his name until the pictures of Superman appears.—PowerPiont1-4)
T: Would you like to give some news about Superman recently?
S: He passed away just the day before yesterday, on October 10, 2004. He died of heart attack.
T: Do you admire him? For what?
S: Yes, very much. We admire him for his bravery….
(1.Play the video and talk about Christopher Reeve. During this process, let students review some films or some words by Reeve--PowerPoint 1-5.
2. Present the title: Lesson 8 Superhero on the blackboard and the courseware by PowerPoint 6。)
Step 2 Pre-reading (3')
Looks at the two pictures on the top of page 28, discuss the questions from Ex. 1. (Show the pictures according to Ss’answers—PowerPoint 7.) Suggested answers: 1. Superhero.2. He fell from his horse and broke his back.3.He is raising money for the American Paralysis Organization.

Step 3 Listening comprehension (5')
Tell the students to watch the video carefully and listen with books closed and try to answer the following questions:
1. Did he suffer from the depression after the accident?
2. How was his marriage after the accident? (PowerPoint 11)
(Let the Ss guess the answers based on their background knowledge.) Check the answers after the students have watched the video once.
Suggested answers:
1. No.
2.Very strong and Dana still loved him.(PowerPoint 12 & 1
3.) Step 4 Reading comprehensions. (5')
Fast reading:
1. Ask the students to read the text with the following questions in 4 minutes and check the answers to the questions in Pre-reading (Ex.2) and Listening comprehension.
2. Ex.3 Match the topics with the parts of the article.
1)How many original paragraphs are there in the text?
2)What is the topic of each paragraph?
