We have witnessed that many students cheat in exams. According to the report of related authorities(有关当局), cheating in exams is becoming more and more serious.

Many reasons contribute to this phenomenon. To begin with, some students are under great pressure from parents and they fear to fail in the exams or fall behind others. Moreover, some are too lazy and want to pass the exams without efforts. In addition, some cheat to get high scores and scholarships. As a result, the problem of cheating in exams becomes very serious.

As to me, cheating in exams can be stopped if we take the following measures. First of all, we should explain the harm of cheating to the students. Besides, punishment should be given to those who have been found cheating. To conclude, education and punishment are effective ways to stop cheating.

Nowadays more and more young people are going to study abroad. Like everything else, studying abroad has both favorable and unfavorable aspects.

Generally, the favorable aspects can be listed as follows. Firstly, they think by attending a college in a foreign country they can learn not only useful knowledge, but also the culture and

customs of other nations. Secondly, they can take advantage of this opportunity to gain a good command of the foreign language. Moreover, they can meet different people and experience different cultures, which may help to broaden their views.

Every coin has two sides. The negative aspects are also apparent. First, the costs are much higher than those in their native country. Most overseas students have to work for a living. What’s worse, they may feel very lonely.

Through above analysis, we can see that the positive aspects outweigh the negative ones. Therefore, I am in favor of going abroad to study.

Taking part-time jobs

In American, more and more high school students take part-time jobs. As for teenage girls, babysitting is a popular choice for them, and boys can take more kinds of part-time jobs, such as delivering newspapers.

I think taking part-time jobs is a good idea for high school students. Firstly, the part-time job can offer them opportunities to go beyond what they have been taught in class, and they will learn something that doesn’t exist in books but in practice. Secondly, students can also get work experience through part-time jobs, which will benefit their future job-hunting. Thirdly, part-time jobs can partly relieve students’ financial burden, especially those who are from poor families.

Of course, it’s an important fact that students shouldn’t break the balance between their jobs and studies. So I think students should spend only their spare time taking part-time jobs.
