2006年12月17日，经国务院批准同意苏州工业园区开展具有保税港区综合 保税功能的海关特殊监管区域的试点工作，并将整合后的区域命名为“苏 州工业园综合保税区”
On December 2006 .The special supervision is approved by the State Department and named as “Suzhou The Industrial Park Comprehensive Free Zone”. Zone”
税收、外汇政策按照《国务院关于设 立 洋 山 保 税港区 的批 复 》 的有 关规 定 执 行。
Tax and Foreign Exchange policies to be conducted in accordance with relevant regulations stated in “ State Department ’ s Approval about Establishment of Yangshan Bonded Port”.
Cargos from overseas are kept bonded, no import VAT or customs tax required in the zone. Cargos from domestic China are regarded as export and enjoy VAT rebate when entering into the zone. Registered companies are allowed to provide services without verification and cancellation such as bonded processing, bonded logistics, import & export trading and inland gateway operation.

The planned Area is 5.28 sq. km, consists of three areas: Bonded Processing - with EPZ A (1.4 sq. km) in the west and EPZ B (1.5 sq. km) in the east, Bonded Logistics (0.5 sq. km), and Gateway Operation (1.88 sq. km).
