• persuade sb. to do sth. 是“说服某人去做某事”。 如果persuade 用过去时或者完成时，则意味着对 方已经接受劝告而去做某事了。但此句的第二部 分用了he just turned a deaf ear to them，这在词 义上造成了前后矛盾的逻辑错误。
