When Alice was sixteen, I was the one who wanted to run away from

Reading makes a full man. When was the last time you read a book, or a magazine article? If you're one of the people who don't make a habit of reading regularly(定期地), you might be missing out: Reading has some good points.
First, studies have shown that staying active can slow the progress of Alzheimer'(阿尔兹海默症). Just like any other muscle in the body, the brain(大脑) needs exercise to keep it strong and healthy. Playing games such as chess has also been found to be helpful.
Second, if you have much stress at work, in your personal relationships, or other problems faced in everyday life, it'll all just go away when you are crazy about a great story. A wellwritten story can take you to other fields, while an excellent article will keep you away from the problems at hand, letting pressure go away and allowing you to relax.
Third, everything you read fills your head with new information, and you never know when it might come in handy. Remember: Although you might lose everything else—your job, your money, even your health, knowledge(如识) can never leave you.
There is one more point, when you read a book, all of your mind is in the story and you can make yourself be interested in everything you're reading. Try reading for 15—20 minutes before work and you'll be surprised at how much more focused you are once you get to the office.
()36. Pressure can be away from us if we ________.
A. play chess more
B. are interested in a story
C. find a new job
D. do much exercise
()37. The main idea of Paragraph 4 is about ________.
A. the key to make more money
B. the way to have a good memory
C. some advice on finding a good job
D. the importance of knowledge
()38. The passage is written mainly to ________.
A. show some ways to relax
B. ask people to keep healthy
C. encourage people to read often
D. get people to work hard
()39. There may be ________ good points of reading in the passage.

We_have_recently_done_a_survey_of_how_to_become_a_successful_eighth-grader. I think we can reduce some activities at school and spend more time in studying. We can also develop our study skills. For example,we can take notes by writing down key words in class. We should learn to challenge ourselves. At home, we should read more classics, care about the latest technology. Of course, we don't forget to help with housework.
In my opinion, I think we can be a volunteer in our free time, such as going to old people's home or visiting the sick kids in the children's hospital. I think it is meaningful.。
