A Summary

Of It’s tough At the

Top By Cherry

2013.10.30 At first, I must say that this passage is a little longer, so I divided it into four parts by myself. This passage mainly talks about the George Mallory’s expedition team and Eric Simonson’s team.

●Settings

Mount Qomolangma is a great attraction as well as a hell-like mountain. Nevertheless, Mallory decided to take part in the British pioneering expeditions of Qomolangma in the 1920s. He had three chances to challenge it. The first two were exhausting and unsuccessfully. Though Mallory had been a 38-year-old family man with three children, he didn’t give up. Luckily, he encountered with two persons. The first was Irvine who was so strong, resourceful, and good-natured and called the “expedition superman”. He was really a splendid companion on the mountain.. The other is Noel odell who buoyed Mallory up for the challenge. Three warriors got ready and start their challenge.

●Developments

Unfortunately, three men never returned. With that, leader of the 1999 expedition Eric Simonson and his team hope to discover the truth of the three men’s death. They had only a few clues. First, they set about from searching their bodies. In 1933, an ice axe and the body of a climber was discovered that thought to be Irvine’s, because the body was described as being “an old English dead”. But this has never been confirmed. And then

they continued searching amongst the snow gullies and ledges. Everything comes to him who wants. They found a collar label where G.Mallory’s name was written. Surprisingly, the clothes were on Irvine’s body, and this made everyone moved. Next they wanted to make sure how Mallory dead. They thought Mallory and Irvine had fallen or simply lay down exhausted in the snow to die. After seeing the body, this became unsure. At the same time, other more significant questions remain. The expedition was frozen to the core.

Other inspiration

There was another expedition team enigma. 138 years ago, John Torrington leaded 129 men to challenge polar, which carried the nation for the discovery of a navigable route through the Arctic into the Pacific. But they never came back either. And this contributed the anthropologist Owen Beattie to apply modern scientific and forensic technique to any remaining evidence of Franklin’s. Because of the major outward appearances, Owen made the autopsy, which showed that Torrington was ill when he died. The cause of death was pneumonia. By examining, he found the cans of tinned preserved food were made from wrought-iron and joined with the seam with solder containing more than 90 percent lead. It’s these lead poisoning lead to weakness, fatigue, neurosis and erratic behavior. Added to bad environment, there was no doubt they had died. However, this is another inspiration.
