• It is generally acknowledged that James's young cousin Minny Temple was the archetype of Isabel.
• Minny Temple was slim, graceful as well as active. She had restless body and mind and a splendid shifting sensibility. She was always interested in things around her and she had many questions and often sought for answers by herself. She was a young woman who possessed pretty appearance as well as wit and intelligence. She was in love with life and had immense dreams of it.

让我阐明一下我的观点。
首先，伊莎贝尔是一个爱好文学的女孩子。
我一直认为，也很相信，书看得越多，人就越不快乐，就越复杂，很多问题就不能简单地凭自己最单纯真实的情感出发来分析和解决。
读书越多的女人是越有思想的，是越向往自由的，这是优点，但也可以是一种悲哀。
伊莎贝尔就是这种有思想的女人，向往自由的女人。
当她爱上在各个方面都堪称完美的沃伯顿时，她却犹豫不决起来，她开始思考一连串问题——他的样貌，他的身形，他的地位，他的财富，他的人品，他的修养……最后她得出的结论是——他太好了！而她自己也曾经说过“她害怕的是她不够好”。
这无疑是伊莎贝尔潜意识中的自卑情结在作祟，这种自卑情结一旦遇上了叛逆情绪，那么伊莎贝尔拒绝一个完美男子的求婚也就变得不那么难以理解了。
周围的所有人都在谈论着伊莎贝尔和沃伯顿的结合，他们都在评头论足，都认为是伊莎贝尔太好运气了，能嫁给这么一个有钱有势的勋爵。

5. Brave and responsible
After her marriage, she finds the scheme of Osmond. Madame Merle is the lover of Osmond, they want to swindle her money. She lives a very miserable life with Osmond, but she never flees. In the end of the novel she returns to her husband.
