Lantern Festival
According to legend, during the reign of Emperor Wu of Han , there was a minister named Dongfang Shuo.
相传，汉武帝时期，有个大臣叫东方朔。
东方朔说：“听说火神爱吃汤圆，宫女元宵最会做汤圆。（正月） 十五，我们可以请元宵做好吃的汤圆，命家家户户也做汤圆，然后 供奉给火神。还有，全城都要挂灯笼，放鞭炮，放烟花，就好像城 里有火一样，玉帝就上当了。”
On the 15th day of the lunar month, Chang'an City was decorated with lightsalso took her sister to the city to see the Lantern.
人们一个接一个地去找汉武帝。当他看到标牌上写着：“长安 危在旦夕，国家将毁于一旦。（正月）十五晚上的大火将使天 空变成红色。”皇帝吓坏了，立即召见东方朔寻求建议。
Dongfang Shuo said ,“ I heard that the God of Fire loves to eat Tangyuan, and the maid Yuan Xiao is the best at making Tangyuan. On the 15th day, we can ask Yuan Xiao to make delicious Tangyuan and order every household to make Tangyuan as well. Then we will offer them to the God of Fire. Also, the whole city needs to hang lanterns, set off firecrackers and fireworks , as if there was a fire in the city, so that the Jade Emperor could be fooled."
