文章是以“He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now”为结束语的。

He hoped to show them this beautiful place someday.Th en Mac heard quick and loud breathing behind him. “Man, that’s a big dog!” he thought. But when he looked to the side, he saw instantly that it was not a dog at all, but a wolf, quickly catching up with him.Mac’s heart jumped. He found out his can of bear spray. With one hand on the bars, he fired the spray at the wolf. A bright red cloud enveloped the animal, and to Mac’s relief, it fell back, shaking its head. But a minute later, it was by his side again. Then it attacked the back of Mac’s bike, tearing open his tent bag. He fired at the wolf a second time, and again, it fell back only to quickly restart the chase.Mac was pedaling hard now. He waved and yelled at passing cars but was careful not to slow down. He saw a steep uphill climb before him. Suddenly, one of the cyclists touched the food bad which they brought. A good idea occurred to him that they could lead the wolf to the forest by throwing their beef and pock away. Smelling the flavor of the meat, the wolf turned around and ran alongside the meat. The two cyclists u-turned in a crossroads. What comforted the two cyclists was that Mac did not get injured. “Thank you for stopping to save me, said Mac to Paul and Becky. The reading comprehension section had been particularly challenging this year, with a passage on environmental sustainability that had left her feeling frustrated and anxious.Leaving the examination hall, Lily joined her classmatesin discussing the test. Some felt confident and upbeat, while others shared her sense of unease about the difficult reading passage. As they dispersed to go home, Lily couldn't shakeoff the feeling that she hadn't done as well as she had hoped. When the results were finally released, Lily's heart sank. Her English score wasn't as high as she had anticipated. Disappointed, she wondered how she could have prepared better for the test.

As the final year students in Zhejiang province were sitting in the exam hall, they were nervous yet determined to do their best in the English section of the college entrance exam. The reading comprehension portion was particularly challenging, with a passage about the impact of technology on society. In the passage, the author discussed the pros and cons of technological advancements in modern society. Theyhighlighted how technology has brought about convenience and efficiency in various aspects of life, such as communication, transportation, and healthcare. On the other hand, the author also pointed out the potential negative effects of over-reliance on technology, such as social isolation, loss of privacy, and job displacement caused by automation. After reading the passage, the students were asked to write a continuation of the passage, expressing their own views on the topic. Many students took a moment to gather their thoughts before starting to write. Some argued that the benefits of technology far outweighed the drawbacks, citing examples of how it has improved their lives and the lives of those around them. Others, however, expressed concerns about the negative consequences of technological advancement, and emphasized the importance of finding a balance between embracing progress and preserving traditional values. One student, in particular, took a different approach and proposed potential solutions to mitigate the harmful effects of technology. They suggested that society should prioritize education and training in the face of automation, and that regulations should be put in place to protect individuals' privacy in the digital age.As the students finished their essays and handed in their papers, a sense of relief and accomplishment filled the air. They knew that they had done their best to articulate their thoughts and opinions on a thought-provoking topic. Regardless of their individual perspectives, one thing was clear - the impact of technology on society is a complex and multi-faceted issue that requires careful consideration and ongoing discussion.。

He decided to take me on a trip to the Wild West.We took a plane to Albuquerque,a big city in the state of New Mexico. We reached Albuquerquein the late afternoon. Uncle Paul, my dad’s friend, picked us up from the airport and drove us up to his farm in Pecos. His wife Tina cooked us a delicious dinner and we got to know his sons Ryan and Kyle. My dad and I spent the night in the guestroom of the farmhouse listening to the frogs and water rolling down the river nearby.Very early in the morning, Uncle Paul woke us up to have breakfast. "The day starts at dawn on my farm," he said. After breakfast, I went to help Aunt Tina feed the chickens. while my dad went with Uncle Paul to take the sheep out to graze(吃草). I was impressed to see my dad and Uncle Paul riding horses. They looked really cool.In the afternoon, I asked Uncle Paul if I could take a horse ride, and he said yes, as long as my dad went with me. I wasn’t going to take a horse ride by myself anyway. So, my dad and I put on our new cowboy hats, got on our horses, and headed slowly towards the mountains. "Don’t be late for supper," Uncle Paul cried, "and keep to the track so that you don’t get lost!" "OK! " my dad cried back. After a while Uncle Paul and his fam house were out of sight. She could hear water trickling (滴落)somewhere at a distance. Quickly she followed the sound to a stream. To her great joy,she also saw some berry bushes. She drank and ate a few berries. Never in her life had she tasted anything better. Feeling stronger now. Jane began to walk along the stream and hope it would lead her to the lake.As she picked her way carefully along the stream, Jane heard a helicopter.

A Vacation with My MotherI had an interesting childhood. It was filled with surprises and amusements , all because of mymother―loving, mother―loving, sweet sweet, and yet absent-minded and forgetful. One strange family trip we took when I was eleventells a lot about her.My two sets of grandparents lived in Colorado and NorthDakota Dakota,, andmy parents decided to spend a few weeks driving to those states and seeing all the sights along the way. As the first day of our trip approached , David , myeight-year-old brother , and I unwillingly said good-byeto all of our friends. Who knew if we’d ever see them again again?? Finally , the moment of our departure arrived arrived,,and we loaded suitcases , books , games , camping equipment ,and a tent into the car and bravely drove off. We bravely drove off again two hours later after we’d returned hometo get the purse and traveler’s checks Mom had forgotten.David and I were always a little nervous when using gasstation bathrooms if Mom was driving while Dad slept slept:: “Youstand outside the door and play lookout (放哨)(放哨) while I while I go go,, and I’ll stand outside the door and play lookout whileyou go.” I had terrible pictures in my mind: “Honey, where are the kids kids?” ?” “What?! Oh , Gosh… I thought theywere being awfully q uiet.” We were never actually left behind in a strange city , but we weren’t about to take any chances. On the fourth or fifth night , we had trouble finding a hotel with a vacancy. After driving in vain for some time time,,Mom suddenly got a great idea idea:: Why d idn’t we find a housewith a likely-looking backyard and ask if we could set up tent there ? David and I became nervous. To our great relief relief,, Dad turned down the idea. Mom never could understand our objections (反(反??Γ?. If a strange family showed up on her front doorsteps , Mom would have beendelighted. She thinks everyone in the world is as nice as she is. We finally found a vacancy in the next town. Thinking of this tent tent,, Momsuggested that we go camping in the next village in excitement excitement,, witheyes glittering. Considering her enthusiasm , we all agreed. When the door of our car opened opened,, Momstormed out instantly and urged us to put up the tent. David and I were asked t pick up some branches to build a fire. And when we came back back,,Dad and Mom had already lain on the grass comfortably in front of the tent tent,, talkingmerrily with a local boy at our age age,, whoalways cast a glimpse at this tent curiously. Soon we learnt that the boy in rags even didn’t have a home to live. Of course course,,Mom “forgot” to take this tent with us again. We drove through several states and saw lotsof great sights along the way. And we also had a nice time living with my grandparents during that vacation. But whatimpressed me most was that tent , which was forgottendeliberately by Mom. Though she did love going camping ,she presented that poor boy with this tent out of sympathy. It was Mom that made my childhood colorful. And it was alsoshe that showed me the true meaning of giving.点评1[学生习作2]The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us. The reason was that we couldn’t find a hotel hotel,, mean i nging that our tent had to be used and Mom’s dream came true. Unexpectedly , David noticed that Mondisappeared after dinner. Eventually , it was Dad that found Mom. This absent-minded and forgetful womanexplained that she just wanted to seek some charming flowers but got lost finally. However However,, thanks to Mom Mom,, wefound a new way with more beautiful views where she got lost.We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way. All of a sudden , as driving , Momasked asked,, “Where is our campin g equipment ?” In the end,?” In the end, we had to accept the fact that we ought to return to find it left by Mom. In that time , I thought this trip was in a mess because of Mom. But it’s obvious for me today thatour trip should have been boring without this loving andsweet lady. There is no person even a wise lady that can match her, my loving, sweet, yet absent-minded andforgetful mom.点评2The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us. It seemed that we wouldn’t get any chancebagger, ait,to use it. Just when we felt tough to deal with itcame into our sight. Mom soon came up with an idea that we should give it to him.
One weekend in July, Jane and her husband, Tom, had driven three hours to camp overnight by a lake in the forest. Unfortunately, on the way an unpleasant subject came up and
they started to quarrel. By the time they reached the lake, Jane was so angry that she said to Tom. “I'm going to find a better spot for us to camp" and walked away.
With no path to follow,Jane just walked on for quite a long time. After she had climbed to a
high place. she turned around, hoping to see the lake. To her surprise, she saw nothing but forest and, far beyond, a snowcapped mountain top. She suddenly realized that she was lost.
“Tom! "she cried. "Help!"
No reply. If only she had not left her mobile phone in that bag with Tom. Jane kept moving, but
the farther she walked, the more confused she became. As night was beginning to fall, Jane was so tired that she had to stop for the night. Lying awake in the dark, Jane wanted very much to be with Tom and her family. She wanted to hold him and tell him how much she loved him.
Jane rose at the break of day, hungry and thirsty. She could hear water trickling (滴落)somewhere at a distance. Quickly she followed the sound to a stream. To her great joy,she also
saw some berry bushes. She drank and ate a few berries. Never in her life had she tasted anything better. Feeling stronger now. Jane began to walk along the stream and hope it would lead her to the lake.
As she picked her way carefully along the stream, Jane heard a helicopter. Is that for me? Unfortunately, the trees made it impossible for people to see her from above. A few minutes later, another helicopter flew overhead. Jane took off her yellow blouse, thinking that she should go to
an open area and flag them if they came back again.
