一、说教材

本课是新目标英语八年级上册第八单元How do you make a banana milk shake? 第四课时——阅读部分Thanksgiving in the United States。本单元中心话题是学习询问和描述一种食物的制作过程,本课时学习美国感恩节及其主食火鸡的制作过程。在本单元前几节课学习的基础上,学生对食物的材料(ingredients)、所需量(quantity)、制作流程(process)等都有了一定的理解及运用。因此通过阅读让学生对西方国家的习俗、饮食文化及制作有鲜活的了解,加强学生对西方文化的认知,激发学生的英语学习兴趣,并在这一实践认知中深入本单元核心知识:first, next, then, finally来描述食物制作过程中的先后顺序及祈使句的运用。进而通过本课时的学习进一步培养学生的跨文化意识和综合语言运用能力。

二、说学情

所在班级学生地处农村,学习英语起步较慢,表达还未能流利自如。但是在七上Unit8中已经初步涉及可数名词和不可数名词,七下Unit4中也有涉及祈使句的用法,因此学生具有了学习本单元知识的认知前提,能比较自然地与本单元话题进行衔接。再加上本单元的操练中,强化了如何描述制作事物的过程,因此教师有计划地引导学生了解西方食谱及文化,这也是学生好奇与感兴趣的,让学生在各种相关任务的完成中扩展自己的视野、提高自己的英语学习能力。

三、说教学目标:

四. 说教学重难点

Importances: the usage of new words, comprehension of the text and learning how to describe a process to do sth.

Difficulties: the understanding of long sentences.

五.说教法与学法

在前面学习的基础上,基于《英语课程标准》理念和英语课程标准对八级学生的要求及学生的心理特点和认知发展规律,结合任务型语言教学模式及竞争机制,采用多元智能理论的教学设计策略,让学生为完成任务获得必需的知识、能力、信息和文化理解。

在学习过程中培养学生阅读计巧、理解能力、记忆力以及思维能力。用生动的课件调动学生的感官进行说读写的训练。
