the topic sentence. The first group who finishes the task will get a point.

Continue to divide the class into four groups to challenge the following tasks. Task 1.
Ask, "Which sentence is probably the topic sentence in a passage?" Students answer together, “The first sentence." Show a passage and let students find the topic sentence. The first group who finishes it will get a point.
Task 2.
Ask, "Which else is probably the topic sentence? "Students answer together, “The last sentence." Show a passage and let students find the topic sentence. The first group who finishes it will get a point.
Task 3.
Ask, "What other place does the topic sentence probably lie in? " Students answer together, “In the middle of the passage." Show a passage and let students find the topic sentence. The first group who finishes it will get a point.
Task 4.
