社会行为的特征

社会行为是指同一种群的动物相互作用所表现的各种行为。具有社会行为的动物，群体内部往往形成一定的组织，成员间有明确的分工，有的群体中还形成等级。

例如，白蚁群体成员之间有明显的分工，群体中有雌蚁、雄蚁、工蚁和兵蚁。工蚁的职能是筑巢，喂养雌蚁、雄蚁和兵蚁。兵蚁则专司蚁穴的保卫。雌蚁是专职的“产卵机器”，也叫后蚁，有时它的腹部膨胀得很大，与身体其他部分很不相称，而且自己不能移动，由工蚁负责移开雌蚁产下的卵并加以照料。
