Unit12 You’re supposed to shake hands.

Period 1 ( Section A: 1a---2c)教学设计

一.教学目标

1.语言技能目标:

(1)Train students’ listening ability

(2)Train students’ communicative competence.

2.语言知识目标

(1)Key Vocabulary :bow, kiss, be supposed to, shake hands, customs;for the first time,(in)the wrong way等;

(2)Target Language :What are people in Korea supposed to do when they meet for the first time? You’re supposed to kiss/bow/shake hands.

3.情感态度目标

(1)Let the students think about different customs. 能够描述自己或他人在不同场合应该做什么;能同他人讨论不同国家的风俗习惯,如初次见面的礼仪、餐桌礼仪等;把知识的训练、能力的培养、英语素养的提高和学习方法的指导有机地结合起来。通过寻求帮助、提供建议等各种形式的合作学习,发展学生的人际交往能力

4.文化意识目标

(1)了解谈论问题、寻求帮助和提供建议的基本方式,学会用得体的语言进行表述;(2)了解各国风俗文化差异。学会尊重不同的文化,养成良好的行为习惯,做一个“入乡随俗”的人,培养学生的学习兴趣。学习策略目标

(1)认知策略:通过与同学沟通交流,对同学的建议作出推理和判断,培养学生的综合分析和判断能力;通过听录音,提高学生抓细节信息的能力。

二.重点难点

1.教学重点

本课的主题对话是What are you supposed to do when you meet someone? You’re supposed to kiss/bow/shake hands.因此,be supposed to do的语法结构是本节课的重点。Talk about what you’re supposed to do and what you aren’t supposed to do.鼓励和引导学生采用自主探索与合作交流相结合的方式进行学习。

2..教学难点

(1)How to train students’listening ability.

(2)How to train students’communicative competence;

(3)Talk about different customs and table manner.力求充分体现“以学生发展为本”的教育理念,努力构建探索型的任务型教学模式课堂教学模式。能够运用所学知识谈论问题和困难,提出建议并作出选择;

三.学情分析

本课的内容是A部分基本的语言内容和文化知识。主要是通过对一些国家的风俗习惯,礼仪差异,时间观念和饮食文化的学习,进一步提高学生对文明生活的认识,加深学生对中外文化的了解,拓展学生的文化视野。

四.教学过程

Step1 Prepare

(1)Greetings;

(2)Sing a song;

(3)Review

Step2:Warming-up and presentation.

1. Daily talk. What day is it today? What’s the date? What’s the weather like today?

2. Watch a flash movie about customs.

3. Learn the new words and phrases by pictures.

4.Task1:熟能生巧

Show a picture of the globe to the students. Ask: Do you know where …is?(Ask students to explain where each of the countries are.)

5.T: What should people often do when they meet for the first time?

Step3: Practice

Task2:火眼金睛

1.present new words:bow, kiss ,shake hands, greet等等。帮助学生回答中国人见面礼节.突破重点be supposed to do.(Help Ss answer: They shake hands / kiss / bow when they meet for the first time.)

Task3:

Look at the pictures, talk about customs in two a group.

Task4:

Listen to the tape,match the countries with the customs.

Task5:

Different countries have different customs. Can you say other countries that people kiss when they meet for the first time?

A. Give Ss some situations, ask them to show their different ideas.
