Fashion and you

教学目标:

I.语言知识:

1. 语音(Phonology):

a)能根据语音辨别和书写本材料中不太熟悉的单词。

b)能就本教学材料的有关话题流畅地表达自己的观点,并做到语音准确、语调自然。2.词汇(Vocabulary):

能理解、运用以下单词和词组

a)adj:baggy,tyipcal

b)n.:hood, trainers ,rap,hero,goth,version,boots,make-up, hip-hop,hippy, sporty,top.

c)v./phrases: dye, prefer

d)phrases: comfortable trousers, black top, black eye make-up, jacket with hood, baggy jeans, colourful trainers, be typical of one’s style,dye one’s hair black.

指导学生词汇学习技巧,如在教授过程中引导学生听音辩字母,合成词的词意推测,相关单词词性,词形,词意的联系和区别。

II.语言技能:

阅读:能获取相关信息(Reading for language, Reading for information, Reading for appreciation, Reading for enriching experience),且进行predicting, skimming, scanning, generalization等阅读微技能训练。

III. 情感态度(Affect)

1.引导学生在理解文章的基础上明白:时尚是一种态度,是个人的风格,做到在合适的场

合,年龄,及个性等方面选择属于自己的穿着很重要,决不能盲目地从众。

2.引导学生在学习英语时学会了解和领会跨文化知识,从而真正地理解文本的内涵。

教学步骤及设计说明:

Step1. Warming-up

Greet students by asking them questions about themselves, the teacher and students get familiar with each other by dong this.

Step2. Lead-in

1.Talk about the hobbies and favorite stars/heroes of the students .

2.Get students to think about what fashion is.

3.Summarize fashion is a big part of music. And also fashion is in clothes, stars, our

hobbies.

设计说明:从学生自身出发,问及他们的爱好,喜欢的明星,很自然地带出时尚元素所在,让学生在自然的交谈中感受时尚的无处不在,为下面对时尚的理解做好铺垫。让这个原本看似遥不可及的话题,一下子贴近学生,给学生对于时尚是什么的话题有了很好的输出来源。

Step3. Presentation

1. play a video called “Heaven and earth” and introduce the two heroes in the video. One is Kobe, a typical sporty style. (here get students to guess the missing letter of t_pical/i/ Present the phrases of T-shirt, comfortable trousers . Introduce trainers by showing sports shoes first. And also introduce the compound words like train+er=trainer

slip+per= slipper, sneak+er=sneaker.

The other is Jay, the typical hip-hop style.

Present the phrases :jacket with hood, jeans with big bags=baggy jeans.

设计说明:通过两个学生很喜爱的明星来呈现两种穿衣风格,让同学能直观地通过图片了解运动和嘻哈风格,并且通过观察图片中人物的衣着,自然地引出两种风格的特征。在这里对词汇进行处理如合成词、介宾后置定语与形容词定语的互换,根据老师的读音判断单词中所缺的字母,很自然地引导学生学习词汇的策略。

2. present the other two dressing styles. One is goth and the other is hippy.

First, ask students about the clothes the people wear.

black jacket; black eye make-up; black boots; dye their hair black.

Word study: dye =change the color of her hair ;

dye/daI/has the same pronunciation of die.

Then define the two styles by introducing the culture notes of them.

Culture corner:

Goth is a style of rock music, popular in the 1980s, the words often expressed ideas about the end of the world, death, or the devil. Now it is also a fashion style that the people wear black clothes and black and white make-up.

Hippy: a person who rejects the way that most people live in western society, often having long hair, wearing brightly coloured clothes and taking illegal drugs. The hippy movements was most popular in the 1960s

Get ss to find out the typical dressing style of hippy from the culture corner.

Finally summarize the four styles, say they are all called fashion.

设计意图:

Goth 和hippy这两种风格离学生的生活认知很远,大多学生对这两种风格一无所知,而且由于这两种风格都源自不同的社会历史背景,而且都是一种文化的衍生。因此让学生了解这种风格背后的文化背景是使他们能准确理解的前提和关键。

Step 4 Pairwork

Get students to look at the photos. Work in pairs and tell their partner which clothes have they got. Eg: A: Which clothes have you got?

B: I’ve got some trainers, but I haven’t got any black boots. What about you ?

设计意图:通过讨论自己的有没有照片中的服饰来巩固新学的词汇,同时也为下一个活动判断各个照片的穿着风格做好铺垫。

Step 5 Read and match

1. Get students match the styles with photos(a-d) by reading carefully, and find out the key words that help you get the right answer.

2. get students to discuss which style do they prefer and why.

Step 6 Consolidation
