Step One Review:

1.Review the symbols learnt in last class.

2.Repeat the song from the last lesson two or three times.

Encourage the Ss to perform the actions in pairs as they sing. Step Two Presentation:

1.This activity focuses on and consolidates the new language

this/that , these/those and specifically focuses on the pronunciation of these words, which are so easy to confuse.

2.Play the cassette. The Ss look carefully at each picture and

point to the object being referring to.

3.Repeat. This time pause after each sentences for then to

repeat.

4.Ensure that Ss understand that we use this and these for

objects that are near to us, and that those for objects that are far away.

Step Three Practice:

1.Draw attention to the picture in Ss’ books.

2.Point to objects at random and elicit what they are using

This is a … These are, That is… or Those are…

3.The Ss then continue this activity in pairs. SA point to the

object. SB says what is or they are, using the words this/these/that/those.

4.Move around the class offering praise and encouragement. Step Four Exercise:

Do workbooks:

Ex 1. 1. Point to the words in the box and elicit what they say. 2.Ask the class to look at each picture and complete the text,

using the words in the box.

Ex. 2 1. In pairs, the Ss take turns to point at the pictures in

Activity 1 and ask and answer.

2.Move around the class to check the correct usage of this, that,

those, these.

Step five Homework:

Make sentences using this/that these/those.
