Unit 3 I’m more outgoing than my sister.

Section A (2a-2c)

【教学目标】

一、知识与技能:

1. 语言知识目标:

1) 能掌握以下单词:outgoing, better, loudly, quietly, hard-working, competition, fantastic, which, clearly, win

能掌握以下句型:

Tina is more outgoing than Tara.

Tara works as hard as Tina.

2) 能掌握以下语法:

①形容词或副词比较级形式的构成。

②表示两者进行比较的句式结构。

2. 技能目标:

进行听说训练,重在培养学生的口语交际能力,学会如何用英语比较,如何描绘人的特征和个性差异以及两两之间的比较。

二、过程与方法

利用学生自主学习模式为主的学习方式,借助PowerPoint来展开,课堂中采用Pairwork进行口语交际活动,小组讨论如何做比较,同时进行听力训练来达到活学活用。

三.情感态度与价值观

能对人物的外表进行描绘,个性进行比较,增强学生之间的沟通与交流,增进友谊。

【教学重难点】

1. 教学重点:

●形容词或副词比较级的构成。

●表示两者进行比较的句式结构。

2. 教学难点:

●Tina is more outgoing than Tara.

●Tara works as hard as Tina.

【教学过程】

Ⅰ. Lead-in: Game (I and my desk mate)

Ask Ss to compare with their partners and find out the differences. e.g.

1.She is heavier than me. I am more outgoing than her.

2.She gets up earlier than me. I run faster than her.

Ⅱ. Presentation

1.Work on 2a:

(1).Ask Ss to learn the new words in 2a by themselves and finish exercise2a.

写出下列形容词或副词的比较级并试读

funny friendly outgoing hard-working smart

lazy fast high hard early

(2).Listen to the tape and check if they are right.

(3).Summarize the Comparatives. Then have a group competition.看谁说得又快又准。

a)一般在词尾加er;

tall--taller short—shorter small--smaller

b)以e结尾的形容词直接在其后加-r。

nice—nicer large—larger white--whiter

c)以重读闭音节结尾并且末尾只有一个辅音字母,应先双写这个辅音字母再加

-er.

big—bigger fat—fatter thin—thinner

d)以“辅音字母+y”结尾的,先改“y”为“i”,再加-er。

happy--happier heavy--heavier easy—easier

e)多音节和部分双音节形容词在其前面加more

loudly—more loudly beautiful—more beautiful interesting—more interesting quietly-- more quietly

2. Work on 2b:

(1). Look at the picture, guess the same and different between Tina and Tara.

(2). Listen and complete activities 2b

(3).Check the answer with the students.

(According to the recorder, we can tell that…)

(4). Summarize the Comparatives. 两者之间进行比较的句式

a)表示两者程度不等时,用句型: A + 谓语(be/v.)+ 比较级+ than + B

b)表示两者程度相同时,用句型: A+谓语(be/v.)+as+原级+ as + B

3. Check yourself. Work on 2c:

Pair work: Ask and answer questions about Sam and Tom.

A: Is Tom smarter than Sam?

B: No, he isn’t. Sam is smarter than Tom.

1. Point out the chart in activity 2c. Say, Make your own conversations according to the information. Ask pairs to continue on their own.

2. Ss practice their conversations.

3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.

Ⅲ. Summary

Ask students to summarize this class.

Ⅳ.Homework:

1.Remember how to change comparative degree.

2.Write a short passage to compare you and your best friend.
