The rails are the "edge" of the surfboard and run from the tail to the nose of the board. Rails are where the deck and the bottom meet. Like the other parts of the surfboard, rails have their part to play in shaping the overall performance of the surfboard. The shape of the rails determines how water flows over them when the board is planing and turning. Different shapes have different uses. Rails are thickest towards the center of the board and thinnest at the tail and nose.

-板缘是冲浪板的边，板缘在板中最 厚，到板头板尾渐簿。 - 板緣的作用:影响转向的效果。 -软板缘较圆，没有角； -硬板缘有清晰的边沿感； 软板缘用于传统长板，提供稳定的 驾驶感。但是用软板缘的板子转弯 不如硬板缘灵活 硬板缘提低供良好转向性，通常用 于短板。

Single Concave单凹 Single concave bottoms work super well when the waves are really clean, but they don't like chunky or choppy surf as they lose their flow easily. Bigger surfers may find these boards "sticky" when coming off the lip.
Hard rails have a distinct edge and may meet the bottom of the board in a corner. Soft rails are common on traditional longboards and provide good stability and plenty of drive. However, a board with soft rails will not turn as easily as a hard-railed board. The harder the rail, the quicker and tighter the board will turn

弧度--Rocker
Rocker指的是板底从板头到板尾的 弯曲弧度.Rocker大些的在较卷的浪 況時板头不易插水,转向也较为灵活, 但若Rocker过大则易产生生转向过 度不易控制的情形。

板底-- Bottom
目前来说板底的设计较多是以Concave(凹面)的形状为主, 所谓的Concave是指浪板底部的凹面,当水流经过Concave 时会产生抬升作用增加板子的速度!
冲浪板的一些参数
厚度
厚度决定这块板的浮力。同样会影 响到板子的机动性，通常越厚的板 机动性越差。 Thickness determines how buoyant the board will be,buoyancy effects how the board will paddle and get into a wave. Thickness also effects maneuverability, thicker board means less maneuverability. Beginners need to look for boards with plenty of thickness.
The hard rail is thicker providing better floatation. These are great on shorter boards for smaller days as they help you drive across the flat sections. www.jilong.com

Double Concave双凹 The majority of shortboards today are single concave up front that fades into a double concave. This gives you the drive of the concave on the part of the board that stays flat, but loosens things up overall by providing more of a centered pivot point through the tail.

长度与宽度
(1 Feet =12 Inch,1Inch =2.54CM ） -Length- 从板头到板尾的尺寸.长度 通常是冲浪板种类区分的依据。 -Width- 通常较宽一點的板子稳定性 较好,窄一些的则灵活性较差。
