Teaching Aims:
At the end of the class, students will be able to
1. read and understand the poems: Seasons of the year:;
2. learn the changes in seasons;;
3. master the words about the seasons of the year..
Teaching contents:
Words and phrases:

Farmers work to harvest crops, as the days are shorter and the temperature drops.

Teaching Procedures:
Step one Lead-in
Ask the students a question: Which season do you like best and why?
S: I like spring. It’s the best time to ….
Step two Pre-reading
Give some students some pictures to learn the new words and phrases: among flowers, stream, shower, fall into files upon the ground, shade, harvest, crop, full of snow, forget to grow, fly far away, temperature, rise and drop
Step three While-reading
1.T: please open your books and turn to P8
2. Today we’ll read a poem about
seasons of the year. And try to complete Part B2. ( check the answers. )
2.Read the poem again and try to answer the questions about seasons of the
year.
Winter: Q1:What can we see in winter ?
2:Can trees and flowers grow in winter?
3:Why do the birds fly away?
Spring: Q1:What can we do in spring?
2:What do bees and butterflies do in spring?
Summer: Q1:What can we do in summer?
2:Where can we often play in summer?
Autumn: Q1:Where can we see piles of autumn leaves?
2:What are farmers busy doing in autumn?
3.Read the poem again and try to finish Part B1 on P83.
4.T: Amy’s cousin Shirley wrote down her conversation wit h Amy about the
seasons, but she made six mistakes in Amy’s answers. Help her underline the mistakes and write the correct word above each one. ( check the answers. )
