高中英语写作基础训练

教学设计

Teaching Aims:

★To practice the five basic sentence patterns.

★To make the students understand the pyramid structure of a passage (from general to specific), as well as connections.

★To help students produce a passage through process training.

Step 1. Brainstorming (prepare necessary vocabulary)Teacher:What comes to your mind when you see the word “sports”?

Students: Two students will be asked to write the words on the blackboard. While the rest speak out their words, and then take every word down on the printed paper.

Step 2. Sentence-making (practise the five basic sentence patterns) Teacher: Ask the students to present their sentences one by one.

Students: Make sentences with any of the words they already have, and then tell which sentence pattern it belongs to (The following is shown on the screen).

Step 3. Join up sentences (practise the use of connections).

Students: Join up the sentences by writing them on the paper.

①He broke the world record.

Everyone got excited.

②We do morning exercises every day.

We stay in the classroom.

Sometimes it rains.

③I am interested in sports programs on TV.

My father is, too.

There are always TV plays for my mother.

We decide to buy another TV set.

Teacher: Supervise the class and ask the students to do them one by one.

Classify the connections: (并列…转折…因果…).

Step 4. Listen and write (Understand the passage organization).

Teacher: Read the passage three times.

I like fruit. I have different fruit in different seasons. Strawberries are inviting in summer and oranges are fresh in winter. However, apples are my favorite. I eat them all the year round because I believe the saying: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Students: (individual writing) write down everything they hear.

(pair work ) check each other’s writing.

(the whole class)Understand the organization of the passage.

Step 5. consolidation (comprehensive practice of the organization, sentence patterns, connections and spelling).

Students: Do the exercise within five minutes and check their writing in their group.

①我妈妈每天早锻炼。

②我们家都喜欢运动。

③我只在周末打网球。

④从周一到周五我都得忙于功课。

⑤我们在不同的时间进行不同的运动。

⑥我爸爸晚饭后散步。

Teacher: Supervise the class and help those who are weak in vocabulary.

Correct order: ②⑤①⑥③④

Step 6. production (passage writing).

Students: write a passage within 6 minutes. Then two or three of them will be asked to present their works in the front. Mark their works by themselves.
