? 翻译不是一种语言中的词语和语句结构到另一 种语言的词语和语句结构的简单转换，也不是 在另一种语言中寻找与一种语言中对等的词语 和语句结构然后将其串接成句的过程。在英汉 翻译中，如果把眼光盯着原文的词语和语句结 构这些属于语言层次的东西，结果翻译出来的 只是一种文字层次的转换，徒具其形，原文的 内容和意义不可能得到很好的表达。
? 德国译学教授Wolfram Wilss 在The Science of Translation：Problems & Methods 一书中说：

Definition of Translation 翻译的定义
1) 所谓翻译，是把一种语言文字的意义用另一种 语言文字表达出来的 语言转换过程或结果。（ P. 1）
2）翻译是把一种语言（即原语）的信息用另一 种语言（即译语）表达出来， 使译文读者能得 到原作者所表达的思想，得到与原文读者 大致 相同的感受。
3 ) 尤金.奈达(Eugene.A.Nida) ---Translation consists in reproducing in the receptor language the closest natural equivalent of the source language, first in terms of meaning and secondly in terms of style .
翻译远不止是一种科学，它还是一种技巧， 而且说到底，完美的翻译永远是一种艺术。
4) 翻译是跨语言（cross-linguistic）、跨文 化（cross-cultural）、跨社会（crosssocial）的交际活动。它是科学 （science），是艺术（art），是技能 （craft）。 After class reading：
