一、教材分析
1、教材简析
本单元的主要话题是谈论伟人,此课为本单元的第五节课,主要讲述一位名字叫做Helen Keller 的残疾人战胜病魔的经历,是一篇阅读课文,通过阅读,使学生了解她怎样成功地战胜病魔和困难。
2、教学目标

二、学情分析
枯燥的话题很难提高学生的学习兴趣。
在这节课,通过一个有趣的假想的话题——假如你是一位残疾人,你会怎么做,来激起学生的兴趣,让学生主动谈自己的想法和看法,学有所得。
三、教学方法
本课采用任务型阅读教学法,用活动和提问的方式引出话题。
采用提问、启发、讨论和归纳的教法,让学生易于接受教材内容,理解阅读内容,培养学生的语言运用能力。
四、教学过程设计

Step Ⅱ. Leading-in
Play a game .
Touch things by hands with eyes closed(objects: chopsticks, comb, money, coin, books, keys, pens, erasers, glasses…) and guess what it is and what it is made of . Lead into the topic “Touch the World”.
Step Ⅲ: Activity_Discussion
T: Do you know Helen Keller?
S1: Yes, I know.
T: Can you say something about her?
S1: I only know she is a very famous writer, but she is blind.
T: Yeah. You are right. She is a disabled person. Thank you. Sit down, please.
(To the whole class) Now class, do you know another disabled people? Can you give me their names?
S2: Zhang Haidi and SangLan. (show pictures)
T: Thank you. Anybody else?
S3: I have watched Buddhist Goddess of Mercy (show pictures)
T: Yes, That’s right. All the 21 dancers are disabled .
(To whole class) Now class, you know that they are all disabled people, but do you know what is their attitude toward life? Suppose:
You are disabled, How will you face your life ?
S4…If I were a blind person, I would use my ears to listen to the sound of the world carefully.
S 5: If I were a deaf people, I would use my eyes to say the beauty of the world.
S 6: If I don’t have arms or legs, I can use my heart to feel the world, and try my best to enjoy the life.
Ok, Now all of you can have your own ideas about them . but actually, How lucky we are ! Today Let’s know more about a great hero------Helen Keller.

4.教师应积极引导使学生形成积极进取的思想和正确对待生活的态度。
5.学生讨论后,做口头报告时,表达不够顺利,原因是学生词汇量有限,口语表达能力欠缺。
6.阅读与思考的时间较多,使得口语练习的机会相对较少。
7.本课时间掌握得不好,以致拖堂布置作业。

【用法】作不可数名词,意为“遗憾、惋惜”。

2. Danny wakes up his parents. 丹尼把他的父母叫醒了。

2. Calcium makes your bones and teeth strong. 钙能使你的骨骼和牙齿坚固。
【用法】句中的形容词strong用在your bones and teeth后作宾语补足语。
动词make后面可以加名词、代词、不带to的不定式、形容词、过去分词等词语构成的复合结构。
【举例】①We made Bill our monitor. 我们选比尔当班长。
②The boss makes the workers work long hours every day. 老板迫使工人们每天工作很长时间。
③What makes you so happy? 什么事情让你这么高兴?④This made her so frightened. 这件事使他很害怕。
Lesson 4: Don’t Smoke, Please!

1) In many countries, smoking in public places is now against the law.
2) Never touch cigarettes.

【用法】句式encourage somebody to do something 意为“鼓励某人做某事”,这里用不定式作宾语补足语。
【举例】The teachers always encourage us to study hard. 老师总是鼓励我们努力学习。

4. Once you get into the habit of smoking, it’s not easy to give it up. 一旦你养成吸烟的习惯,就不容易戒掉了。

2. She told me to drink plenty of water and have a good rest. 她告诉我多喝水并且要好好休息。
【用法】这句话用不定式作宾语补足语,句式tell somebody to do something 意为“告诉某人做某事”;如果表示“告诉某人不要做某事”则用句式tell somebody not to do something。
除动词tell外,ask, want, order等也有这种用法。
