After a hard process to collect and collate the words and deeds of Confucius,his students and other scholars compiled the famous book- The Analects of Confuciuse. The later savant made an great development of the Confucianism.The most brilliant one is Mencius.

Education
1、He established the first private school in China and accepted the students from every country. 2、Subjects: Manners, Music, Literature, Riding, Archery and Mathematics (礼，乐， 射，御，书，数） 3、He had more than 3000 students. Among them, 72 became great famous scholars.
Politics
As a statesman, Confucius didn’t play an important role in his homeland.Once had he been the acting prime minister,however, during his whole-life political career,he had to go to other countries back and forth.
The basic Confucius doctrines are embodied in the following characters: 1仁 benevolence，to be humanity，mercy，and 仁 kindness 2义 justness, righteousness, obligation, friendly 义 sentiment 3 礼 rituals, ceremony , manners, courteous 4 智 wisdom, resourcefulness, intelligence ,well educated 5 信 royalty，faithful，reliable，responsible， accountable，creditable
Philosophy
Confucius founded the Confucianism,which deeply influenced not only in the daily lives,but also the ideology of later generations in China. It is so far-reaching that we are still living under the shadow of its sorroundings.As you know, it is called “the Harmonious Society” nowadays.
Symbol of Chinese Culture
To study but not think, you will be confused. Just to think but not study, you will be lazy.(学而不思则罔，思而不学则殆） 学而不思则罔， 学而不思则罔 思而不学则殆） What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others(己所不欲，勿施于人 己所不欲， 己所不欲 勿施于人)What one does not wish for oneself, one ought not to do to anyone else.

As known as another great educator&statesman, Mencius inherited the ideas,and made it further more systematic.He also added his own opinions. Finally, he wrote his bookMencius in order to propagate his theory with his followers. Some articles are still to be on everybody's lips.
Both Confucius and Mencius are great historygiants. Their influence is all over the world while the spirit of the Confucianism has been a criterion accepted by all of us. That’s the reason why we show our respect to them.
