利用英语定语从句翻译汉语的状语从句，增加译文的文采。例句：我爷爷虽然今年95了，可是钢琴弹得非常好。My Grandfather, who is already 65 years old this year, plays the piano very beautifully.

一、译为原因状语从句

1)我几乎认不出她了，因为在过去的十年中，她变得太多了。

I could not recognize her who had changed so much in the past ten years.

2) 人不能在月球上生存，因为那里没有空气和水。（同学们翻译）

Man cannot live on the moon, where there is no air and water.

3）(因为)你母亲在超市买东西，我遇见了她。

I met your mother who was doing shopping in the supermarket.

4)（因为）那个人在街上跑，被一辆卡车撞倒了。（同学们翻译）

The man who was running in the street was knocked over by a truck.

2.译为结果状语从句

1）科学家们已经成功地研究出了第二代血液代用品，从而解决了血液的储存问题。

Scientists have developed a second generation of the blood substitute that solves the problem of blood storage.

3.译为条件状语从句

1）任何人如果违反了规定都要受到严厉的惩罚。Anyone who breaks the rule will be punished severely. 2）人们迫切地要求工作，不管是什么工作，只要能维持一家人的生活就行。

Men became desperate for work, any work, which will help them maintain their families.

4.译为目的状语从句

1）每次游览都有英语翻译陪同，以帮助来宾了解参观点的情况。

Each tour will be escorted by English-speaking interpreters who will help you to obtain information and interest from what you are seeing.

2)他安装了一部电话，以方便同家人和朋友联系。（同学们翻译）

5.译为让步状语从句

The armed rebellion, which looked very serious at

first, was soon put down by the government.

Those scientists, who were dog-tired, went on with the experiments.
