Part I: The Window — An ordinary afternoon — In the Ramsays' home James, the Ramays' youngest child, desires to sail to the lighthouse Because of the bad weather, that wish didn't come true Lily is a painter，she was painting the Mrs. Ramsay and James. But she think she couldn't grasp of the scenery. The section closes with a large dinner party and everything looked very peaceful.
