coast和beach的区别?coast海岸和海滨地区,所以a town on the coast是海滨城镇. 它不能用来指河岸或湖岸.seaside "海滨",尤指假日度假胜地shorel "岸,滨",含义广泛,可指围绕海洋、河流及湖泊旁边的陆地,含有与水相对的意味(in shore"近岸";on shore"在岸上,在陆上";off shore"离岸")--------Exercises:选择最恰当答案&翻译每句句子!--------1.Shanghai lies on the east ____ of China.A.bankB.beachC.coastD.seaside2.They saw a boat about a mile from the ____.A.shoreB.seasideC.bankD.beach3.Many English people like to go to the ____ for their holidays and lying on the ____ in the sun.A.shoreB.coastC.seasideD.beach4.The old man used to sit on the river____ to fish.A.bankB.coastC.seasideD.beach5.The children are playing with sand along the ____.A.shorelB.beachC.bankD.coast6.The ship stopped a little way off the ____.A.coastB.shoreC.bankD.beach参考答案及具体分析:1.Shanghai lies on the east __C__ of China. A.bankB.beachC.coastD.seaside2.They saw a boat about a mile from the __A__. A.shoreB.seasideC.bankD.beach3.Many English people like to go to the __C__ for their holidays and lying on the __D__ in the sun. A.shoreB.coastC.seasideD.beach4.The old man used to sit on the river__A__ to fish. A.bankB.coastC.seasideD.beach5.The children are playing with sand along the __B__. A.shorelB.beachC.bankD.coast6.The ship stopped a little way off the __B__.船停在离岸不远处.A.coastB.shoreC.bankD.beach。
As a high school student with a deep love for the ocean, I am always excited about the prospect of spending my holidays at the beach. Theres something magical about the sea that draws me in every time, and I have a few tips and personal experiences to share on how to make the most out of a beach holiday.First and foremost, planning is key. My friends and I usually start by researching the best beaches within driving distance or a short flight away. We look for beaches that are not only beautiful but also offer a variety of activities. For instance, some beaches are perfect for surfing, while others are ideal for snorkeling or just relaxing with a good book.Once weve chosen our destination, we make sure to book accommodations early. This is especially important during peak holiday seasons when many families are also looking to enjoy the beach. Weve learned from experience that waiting too long can result in limited options or higher prices.Packing is another essential part of the process. I always make a checklist to ensure I dont forget anything important. Sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a good beach towel are musthaves. I also pack a waterproof bag for my phone and other valuables, as well as a cooler to keep our drinks and snacks cold. When we arrive at the beach, we like to explore the area first. This could mean walking along the shore, checking out local shops, or finding the perfect spot to set up our beach umbrella. We often bring a portablespeaker to play our favorite tunes, creating the perfect beach vibe.Engaging in water activities is a highlight of our beach trips. Whether its swimming, surfing, or building sandcastles, theres always something fun to do. Ive learned to respect the oceans power, though, and always pay attention to lifeguards advice about currents and safety. One of my favorite memories from a beach holiday was when we went on a sunset cruise. The colors of the sky as the sun dipped below the horizon were breathtaking, and it was a peaceful way to end a day filled with activity.Of course, no beach holiday is complete without trying the local seafood. We often visit nearby restaurants or food stalls to taste the fresh catch of the day. The flavors of the sea are always a delightful treat that I look forward to.At the end of the day, we gather around a bonfire if allowed, sharing stories and roasting marshmallows for smores. The sound of the waves crashing on the shore and the cool breeze make for a perfect evening. One important aspect of a beach holiday that Ive learned to appreciate is the importance of leaving no trace. We always clean up after ourselves, making sure to pick up any trash and dispose of it properly. This helps preserve the beauty of the beach for others to enjoy. In conclusion, a beach holiday can be an unforgettable experience filledwith fun, relaxation, and adventure. With careful planning, respect for the environment, and an open mind to enjoy new experiences, anyone can have a fantastic time by the sea. As for me, I cant wait for my next trip to the beach, where Ill continue to create more cherished memories.。

This year, some shoppers, however, stayed up late on Thanksgiving night. This change in behavior was in large part due to the efforts of different stores to beat each other during the traditional start to the holiday shopping season. Some popular stores for the first time opened at midnight on Thanksgiving night to offer deals that once were reserved for the next day. It was reported that 24 percent of Black Friday shoppers were at stores at midnight. That’s up from 9.5 percent the year before when only a few stores were open during that time. But those hours mostly attracted the younger people. Of those shopping at midnight on Black Friday, 37 percent were aged 18 to 34. Older shoppers weren’t as quick to run to the stores. Only 23.5 percent of 35- to 54-year-olds were in stores by midnight. One department store, for example, attracted 10,000 people to its midnight opening and many of them were young people who turned out for the gift sets and discounted fashion items. What if we buried each other?A: In the sand?L: Yeah. It’ll be awesome! We’ll dig a giant hole and of us can bury the other one in the sand.I used to do it with my brother all the time when we were kids.A: All right, sweet! Let’s go!L: (To Holly)You want to come?H: No thanks. You can go be the “cool” one! I’m happy as a clam right here.I’ll start getting lunch together in a little bit. Oh, and tonight, after we hose the two of you off,I was thinking about getting dinner at the Crab Shack on the waterfront. What do you say ?L: Sounds awesome.A: I’m in!(starts running down the beach and shouts to Longan) Last one to reach the lifeguard’s chair is the one who gets buried!。
