Ⅰ.Teaching aims and demands 教学目标

1.Learn some new words:

shower, radio, duck

2. Learn the past continuous tense:

(1) — What were you doing at this time yesterday?

— I was taking a shower.

(2) — What were you doing from seven to nine yesterday morning?

— I was learning English.

(3) — Were you playing computer games?

—Yes, I was./No, I wasn’t.

(4) What was he/she doing at nine o’clock last Sunday morning?

3. Go on learning some useful expressions on making a telephone call:

(1) May I speak to Jane?

(2) Hold the line, please.

Key words and sentences:

1.when 可表瞬间、时间点，主从句动作、事情可同时发生，也可有先后。

e.g. It was snowing when we got there .( 同时）

He went home when he finished his work.(动作的先后）

While 用于两个延续性动作同时发生。

e.g. Mother was cooking while father was watching TV.

2.hold the line : hold on , wait a moment , just a moment

3.nobody = no one = not anybody

4.take a shower : have a shower take a bath have a bath

e.g. I was taking a shower when the bell rang .

1. Learn some new words and useful phrases:

agree, pleasant, agree with sb., handsome, useful, sad, make faces, laugh

2. Learn some useful sentences:

(1)I thought it was just so-so.

(2)I thought he was very brave!

(3)It’s nothing serious.

(4)Miss Wang was angry with me.

3. Go on learning the past continuous tense:

(1)—What were you doing at this time last night?

—I was watching a Harry Potter movie.

(2)Because I made faces and made my classmates laugh when she was giving us a

lesson.

(3)You weren’t listening to the teacher.

4. Learn to express agreement and disagreement:

—I think classical music is pleasant.

I agree with you. / Yes, I think so.

—

I don’t agree. / No, I don’t think so. I think it’s boring.

Key words and sentences:

1.watch a movie =see a film go to the cinema ; go to the movie theater ; watch TV ;

watch a soccer game.

2.agree with sb agree with what…

e.g. Do you agree with me?

I agree with what you said.

agree on = agree about

e.g. We agree on the plan.

agree to do sth

e.g. He agree to buy a present for me .

agree ＋that 从句为某事见解一致，承认某事。

They agreed that I should buy this book.

3. Pleasant adj 令人愉快的

Pleasure n 愉快

e.g. It’s a pleasant trip .

She takes pleasure in reading .

He did it to please his parents.
