Many people say that there is no fun left but bored study and endless exercises. However, as a high school student, I can’t agree with them. Personally, I live a fruitful but happy life in high school. It can’t be denied that study is my priority that I must spend most of my time and energy on it. Sometimes, study may make me frustrated or even drive me crazy, but I still can adjust my mood to enjoy my life.Besides, I can also get a sense of achievement when I do well in my study or make progress. The most important is that my friends bring much happiness to me and my parents’ care inspires me to go on. I think friends in high school are my best friend forever, because they know me a lot and witness all of my emotions. They are the persons who growwith me. In addition, teachers in high school care much about our students both in study and life, and classmates are always friendly to each other. We build deep friendship together. All of these make up my fruitful life in high school, which I will cherish forever.

Any day that I had to go to the airport was the worst day of my life, and as a traveling appliance salesman, I had to fly quite a bit. On this particular day in 2010. 1 was assigned to a middle seat. Back then, I was so fat that I couldn't fit down the aisle (走廊)facing forward,so I was forced to walk sideways like a crab. I weighed between 340 and 360 pounds; the exact figure depended on whether I measured my weight before or after one of my enormous meals. When I finally squeezed into my seat, the seat belt wasn't long enough to fit around my 52-inch waist. They never were.I woke up the next morning knowing that I needed to change. I started looking for signs that might lead me toward a better life and immediately a sign showed up. I turned on the TV and happened to catch an interview with former president Bill Clinton. He said he'd been under the care of a doctor who put him on a whole-food, plant-based diet. He lost weight without feeling hungry, and he was healthier and stronger than he'd been since his twenties. I never imagined my sign would come from Bill Clinton, but there he was.I had no idea what a “whole-food, plant-based diet” was. I went online and searched fora doctor who could help me. That's when I found Preeti. 1 felt hopeful when she agreed to see me the next day. The doctor recommended a low calorie diet and suggested some moderate exercises I could do in my home. She also suggested that I go to a shelter and adopt adog.“Exercise?”I asked, “A dog?" I couldn't believe what I heard. But, she said. “A dog is a good companion. Plus, you live in an apartment. which means the dog has to be walked. So if you walk your dog twice a day, that will be your exercise."Paragraph 1:With doubts and hesitation, I drove up to a dog sheller near where I lived.___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________Paragraph 2:I came back home with the large black and-white dog with a big round body.___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________【答案】范文:Para 1:With doubt and hesitation, I drove up to a dog shelter near where I lived.Upon opening the door,I was amazed to see various types of dogs: Poodle,Husky,Samoyed .. Though abandoned, they all appeared clean and energetic. Seeing a stranger approaching, they kept barking, alert but curious. I was torn between a Poodle with golden fur and a Husky wagging its tail when a large black-and-white dog dozing in the corner caught my attention. His round body immediately reminded me of my size and what Preeti said-A dog is a good companion. I knew he was perfect for me.Para 2:I came back home with the large black-and-white dog with a big round body.I named him David, who often lay motionless on the floor and yawned with eyes half-closed. Though a bit discouraged, I was determined to change both of us. Soon, I found a ball, dragged David to the park and threw it at him. Driven by natural instinct, David dashed forward to chase the ball. Gradually, I could walk David twice a day. One month later, I suddenly realized that there was no need for me to walk like a crab on the plane. Meanwhile, David became lean and healthy.【解析】本文以人物为线索展开,讲述了作者体重在340到360磅之间,作者决定改变自己,作者在网上找到了能帮助自己的医生,医生建议作者吃低热量的食物,并建议作者在家里做一些适度的运动。

However, everything has two sides, including advertisements, after you hear what I will say next you will touch the feeling “advertisement is a curse” the same as me.

英语简单句有六种基本句式①.S+P+V②.S +Vi③.S +Vt +O④.S +V +IO +DO⑤.S+V+O +OC⑥.There +be +S +Ad通过对基本句式的讲解,再给出大量的句子让学生自己划分其中的成分并标明它们分别属于哪种句式,这样就对于在今后学习复合句时不易与其混淆。

Although I climbed often in my native Scotland, this was my first trip to the Alps. My companions—Jean-Pierre Barton, Maurice Gautier, and Mary Sargent—and I left our camp early and planned to reach the top by late morning. As we neared the top, large clouds gathered and it began to snow. We found shelter and decided to wait for the snow to stop. After three hours, however, we decided to go back and try again the next day. We started down the mountain in the thick snow. Jean-Pierre forgot his sunglasses and went back to look for them. As he was returning to us, he started to fall. His fall started an avalanche(雪崩) and it was falling towards us! I was swept away by the heavy snow. Jean-Pierre hurried down to me. “Are you OK?” he asked.“I think I broke my leg,” I answered.“I’d better radio for help!” he said. “Where are the others?” We couldn’t see Maurice or Mary anywhere.Jean-Pierre called the emergency radio number, and the police said they would send help right away. It seemed like hours, but only minutes later we heard the welcome sound of a helicopter. The helicopter couldn’t land on the mount ainside, so they lowered two men, two dogs and a stretcher(担架). One man ran to me, but I told him to search for the others. The dogs were trained for avalanche rescue and soon began to dig crazily in the snow.Bernardo, the lead dog, found Mary’s scarf an d led the rescuers to her. Maurice was nearby. The men gave us hot drinks and warm blankets and then prepared to lift us into the helicopter. Two men inside the helicopter pulled us up with the ropes. I went first on the stretcher.Once we were safely inside, the helicopter flew to the hospital in Chamonix. Our poor rescuers and their dogs had to climb all the way back down the mountain. Later we would find these brave men and thank them for saving our lives.例文2:(2011西城二模阅读理解A篇)On Christmas morning, I went to the Cockhedge Mall. Picking up a few more things as well as my cared I went to join the line for the express checkout which was for people who only had a few items in a basket and not a trolley load. This line was next to the Customer Service desk.Seemingly waiting quite a long time, I was jogged out of my thoughts by a voice behind memaking comments on the things I bought. It was so funny when I realized that she was describing the contents of my basket. The owner of the voice was a very pretty young lady. I said to her that I was going to buy a box of Christmas cookies but the only ones left were not to my liking. The lady told me that just opposite Cockhedge in Superdrug they had lots of cookies. I said, “I’m not going to bother now. I had enough of shops and I’m going home.”The assistant from the Customer Service came across at this time sa ying “If there is anyone in the line with a few items in their basket, none of which needed to be weighed, I will check out their groceries at the desk.” Because I had the sprouts which needed to be weighted, the young lady accepted the offer and walked away waving goodbye.Eventually my turn came at the checkout. I was walking away when I met my new friend once again who handed me a beautiful box of Christmas cookies. With a big hug she said “Hope you have a lovely Christmas.” She had been into Superdrug to buy me the cookies while I was still queuing in Cockhedge. What a generosity to a stranger! I was so surprised you could have knocked me down with a feather. My Good Samaritan would never know what a joyful Christmas day I had with my family. Telling them this story, as we ate around the table, kept everyone spellbound. It was a cold winter afternoon. When trying to pick up the camera memory card that he had dropped, he accidentally lost his footing and fell into the river which was flowing dangerously fast as a result of the heavy rainbrought by the recent typhoon. He was quickly dragged downstream and was swept away by the strong current. He was unable to reach the riverbank, his young friends powerless to help.Thankfully, at that exact moment, a 26-year-old Chinese exchange student, YanJun, was taking a jog along the river when he spotted the boy waving his arms in an effort to stay afloat, but the boy was obviously panicked and in great danger of drowning. With little regard for his own safety and the wildly running river, Yan leapt into the river to try to rescue the boy. Right after Yan hit the water, he quickly discovered that his body was completely powerless in the face of nature. He almost died too because of the torrential river. But with all his might, he swam hard toward the boy who was now beginning to lose consciousness.Unfortunately, it is difficult for Yan to reach the boy, as the strong currents carried the boy past. Eventually, after several attempts, it took Yan all his remaining strength to reach the boy. Then he quickly locked his left arm against the boy’s chest and managed to drag the boy back to the bank safely. The two were taken to a nearby hospital for examination. Fortunately, neither suffered serious injuries. Aside from a few minor cuts and bruises, the boy was unhurt, as was his heroic rescuer. They were immediately released afterwards.Later on, Yan's heroic and selfless act was widely reported in Japanese media and received a certificate of commendation from the Chief of the Police, who spoke highly of Yan's courageous behavior in disregarding his own safety and the danger involved, saying that his actions had impressed all who have heard of them. Japanese netizens also all paid tribute to Yan's heroic behavior.Yan took to his microblog on Sina Weibo to talk about his experience. Although he suffered a few minor abrasions, he said he had “just done the natural thing” and that he was very lucky he was able to save both the boy and himself. He also said that “nationality" had nothing to do with saving a life, and after all, giving a hand is the basis of a more harmonious and humane society.例文5:One Friday eveningI was walking home from school. It was raining and it was starting to get dark.I was waiting at some traffic lights when, suddenly, I heard a scream from somewhere above me.I looked up and saw a woman at a window who looked desperate and helpless. She screamed “fire”, waving her hands with almost all her strength. Seeing this urgent scene, I knew I had to do something quickly. I ran into the house without hesitation. Meanwhile, one of the neighbours phoned the police and called the fire engine. As I went into the house, I found it hard to see anything because it was full of smoke. First I covered my mouth with a wet towel right on the table in the kitchen, and then I tried my best to approach the woman following her voice. When she noticed me, she stopped screaming and staggered to me. I hurried to her and held her hand. The fire spread quickly, and the smoke made it hard for us to breathe. At the moment, all I thought was getting out of the house at once. So I supported the woman, struggling to the door. I could hear the sirens of the fire engine wailing and people shouting outside. Iexerted all my strength, pushing the woman out of the door before I fainted. When I woke up, I found myself in an ambulance. I sat up with the help of the nurse. What relieved me was thatI was told the woman was only slightly hurt. Through the window, I could still see the fire fighters fighting the fire. In the end, a fireman came up to me and praised me for my brave action. This was the most impressive experience in my life.(2011年高考石景山一模考试)假设你是红星中学高二(1)班的学生李华,上周六在颐和园你做了一件好事。

Directions: Read the following passage. Summarize the main idea and the main point(s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible.A Brief Introduction of CryptocurrencyIn 2008, someone, or perhaps a group of people, using the name Satoshi Nakamoto published a paper to an online group that discussed cryptography (密码学). That paper described a process that would use cryptography to create a secure electronic cash system, now known as a cryptocurrency Person to person payments could be made online using a shared network of computers instead of a bank or other financial institutions. Each transaction could happen very quickly. The shared network of computers would also serve as the means to verify(核实) those transactions safely. Getting rid of the need for a centralized banking system would open up the possibility for anyone to become part of the digital economy. The software behind cryptocurrency is open source, which means anyone can use the original code to create their own version. Today, there are well over a thousand different cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, their becoming the global payment systems are held back by problems affecting the entire cryptocurrency industry. One issue is weak security on cryptocurrency websites where users either store their electronic cash in virtual “wallets” or exchange one kind of electronic cash for another. In recent years, clever thieves have broken into many of these websites and stolen electronic cash. The websites are struggling to protect their users from such thefts.Another problem is the large number of fake cryptocurrencies that are advertised on the internet. The advertisements invite internet users to visit websites offering new cryptocurrencies. Many visitors are persuaded by the websites to buy their cryptocurrencies using actual money. Later, the websites disappear along with the victims’ money. In response to this problem, companies like Facebook and Google are limiting cryptocurrency advertising on their websites.二.Directions: Read the following three passages. Summarize the main idea and the main point(s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible. Why Screen Time Isn’t Always BadFor the past few years, I have been researching the effects of one type of screen time on our behaviour: playing video games. It’s easy to see why video games are often dismissed as something harmful. Players seem absorbed by the action on the screen, as if the rest of the world doesn’t exist. Without further context, it’s hard to see games as anything other than digital junk food. But context matters, and understanding the experience of the players can give us new understanding. Video games are an inherently social experience: they’ve been designed as cooperative. Take Mine-craft, for example. It does bring people together in all sorts of ways. Some play to connect with their friends, others share in the creative experience of building something monumental, and it’s even been used as an interactive tool to teach students basic chemistry. Elsewhere, studies have shown that video games can be used as a therapy to help soldiers overcome PTSD, and to help children with cancer stick to treatment. As for the supposed negative aspects of video games, the story is largely the same. Studies that show a link between violent games and aggressive behaviour are often picked up in the news over other, more meaningful studies. Part of the problem is that it’s remarkably hard to test for aggression in the lab, and there’s also a great deal of flexibility in the way that researchers can analyse their data. But where the best methods are used, evidence suggests that playing violent games has fairly negligible effects on our behaviour. Our understanding of the behavioural effects of video games - and screens more generally - isn’t yet complete. After all, these technologies are a relatively recent addition to our lives. Like many things, we can use them in good ways, and we can use them in bad ways. It’s up to us, as a society, to use their potential for good.point(s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible.Seniority in Promotion Is Not a Wise Business Practice It's not always an easy decision for companies when it comes to filling managerial spots. In the past promoting an employee has been popularly handled by means of basic analysis of the employees' past performance nod seniority, In some cases, the individual's performance has been considered more important while in others the amount of time they have been with the company has been the deciding factor. Nevertheless, seniority is a standard that has never been left out, However, in the contemporary business world, the importance of seniority in promotion is being destroyed as a growing number of companies look outside of their organizations when trying to fill top managerial spots.Unlike experienced employees who have been with the company for a long time, new people are mare likely generate creative ideas. In rapidly changing markets, innovative and creative talents are sought by many companies in order to adapt to the market. To meet their needs, companies have more to gain by selecting outside employees since they are more willing to try new techniques and less afraid of breaking tradition when introducing new ideas. Thus, rather than promoting existing employees, it might be a wiser management decision to bring in outside talent. An additional advantage to this new system is that it prevents employees from feeling that they only need to wait for their seniority to provide them with a promotion. Simply put no matter how long they have been with the company, employees have to contribute diligently to the organization if they want to move up the career ladder, As soon as people realize that the company could just as easily bring in a new person, employees will stop judging themselves against each other because they are no longer competing against their colleagues but everyone in the entire industry. As a result, they will begin to show more effort to bring the level of their work up to what they imagine is a much higher standard.point(s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible.StorytellingThe art of storytelling is a respected skill. Over the course of history, community elders and their stories have been regarded as treasures of society’s knowledge, history, and wisdom. Today, medical and social science researchers are interested in more than just the importance of storytelling as a means of teaching, but also overall health. There have been lots of studies that have looked at the psychological and therapeutic effects of storytelling. Perhaps one of the most interesting things in the world of the research of long life, however, is the growing number of people with dementia who are benefiting from participating in group-based community storytelling. Studies of the use of reminiscence therapy with people suffering from dementia have looked at the impact the therapy has on both mental function and quality of life, which are positively influenced by the use of storytelling.Experts say that storytelling also effectively fights against the initial denial that can arise when a patient learns of a new diagnosis, or is asked to change deeply fixed behaviors which are definitely influencing health in the long run. Patients may react to this news by thinking, “This is not directly related to me,” or “My experience is somewhat different.” Stories help break down that denial by engaging the listener, often through some degree of identification with the storyteller or one of the characters. The magic of stories lies in the relatedness they promote. This is why many stories in advertisements are being made full use of to reach the target customers.Patients and doctors have understood the power of storytelling. Whether among patients in peer support groups or between doctors and patients in the exam rooms or even between doctors during consultations, storytelling is always playing the essential part.五、What started as a race to space between the United States and Russia has turned out to be a technological revolution that has greatly improved the quality of daily life throughout the world. Scientists at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have invented new technology to make space flights doable. The same technology, when applied on Earth, has produced thousands of products in the areas of health and sports that have significant impacts on our lives. Many of these improvements are in the fields of health and medicine.NASA-inspired technology fueled the great advances in the early detection of deadly diseases. For instance, computer chips designed for the Hubble telescope are used in digital imaging devices that help medical professionals detect cancer at very early stages. Eye doctors can now diagnose vision problems in very young children by using ocular screening. Ultrasound scanners, portable x-ray devices, and bone analyzers are among the medical devices developed with the help of space technology.Fogless ski goggles and special sportswear are among the hundreds of items of sports equipment inspired by NASA technology. Space technology has been applied to sports too. The running shoes that athletes use today have midsoles that act like shock absorbers and keep the runners steady while in motion. These shoes utilize the technology NASA used to design the moon boot. In golf, athletes use a new ball that employs NASA research on how to make the flight of the ball from the tee to the green faster and more accurate. In swimming, athletes can swim faster because of NASA-developed riblets in the fabric of their swimsuits.Almost all aspects of daily life continue to improve because NASA scientists are still at work. Transportation, methods of preparing food, and work environments are other ways in which NASA technology has made significant changes. Cryptocurrency is an electronic cash system created through a process using cryptography.
