“China”in English has two meanings, China as a country and china as porcelain.Westerners have linked the country of China with porcelain since a long time ago,because the technique of manufacturing porcelain was originally invented in China.The techniques of manufacturing porcelain have developed rapidly since the EasternHan Dynasty (25-220).

英语中的“China”一词有两个意义，一个是中国，一个是瓷器。西方人很早酒吧中国与瓷器联系在一起，这是因为制瓷技术是中国人发明的。中国的制瓷技术从东汉以后发展很快。

元代以后，制瓷业在江西景德镇迅速发展起来，景德镇因此被称为中国的瓷都。景德镇瓷器轻巧精美，最珍贵的包括青花瓷等。中国明代著名的航海家郑和，其次航行越洋到达东南亚各国和非洲等地，随船带去的物品中，就有大批青花瓷器。

Chinese porcelain ware are not only daily handy necessities, but also precious arts andcrafts. From the Han and Tang dynasties, Chinese porcelain wares and theirmanufacturing techniques gradually spread all over the world.

中国瓷器不但是精巧的日用品，也是珍贵的艺术品。子汉唐以来，中国瓷器就大量销往国外，中国的制瓷技术也逐渐传遍世界各地。
